I know some of us have been waiting since 16 July 2012 for this to come.  Well, we only have 9 more days to go:  http://forums.eagle....ad.php?t=129858

At SimHQ:

http://simhq.com/_air13/air_479a.html

I'm really looking forward to the MiG-21Bis Fishbed.

Awesome aircraft.

Here is some DCS info on it:

http://forums.eagle....ead.php?t=87621

Who knows, maybe if enough people are interested, we can branch out into the DDR's (East Germany's) Jagdfliegergeschwader 1 (JG-1):

http://de.wikipedia....gergeschwader_1

:D

Still no word on whether they'll give us the Fw 190 as an opponent to the P-51.

I would be interested in flying the Mig-21 for the DDR. As a kid their flag was my favorite, I think I just liked the compass and hammer.

JG-1 here we come: http://de.wikipedia....gergeschwader_1

:D

Between this, the Fw 190D-9, the Bf 109K-4 and the F-86F, I'm going to be a very happy camper.

Alte Kameraden,

Where is the manual for this? In game or in a folder some place, have not found it yet.

Just bought the Mig-21bis.  In my view, they have absolutely nailed the plane.  The tire rumble on takeoff even sounded right.  Energy bleed in hard turns also feels right.  We fought the Mig-21--and Mig-23--when I went through Navy Fighter Weapons School.  You could tell when he was pulling hard with that delta wing.  High AOA and slowing down fast.  I am definitely impressed.

I was watching the World Series.  Still working on the switchology.  Russian aircraft from that period are famous for poor ergonomics with switches all over the place.  It really is a joy to fly though.  Found landing pretty easy even though the approach is fairly quick.  Have to start on the nav and weapons systems this weekend.

Awesome insight, Vik. Even though they had their own MiG-21 pilot on the dev team, it's good to hear this sort of feedback from our own Cold War fighter jock ;) Thanks!

If they did the Mig-21, they HAVE to be working on an F-4.  I've got a couple of F-4s done for FlightSim 2004/X and X-Plane.  None are any good.  I'd kill for a good F-4 sim.  You can spot check an F-4 sim pretty easy.   Take the plane to around 10k feet and trim level.  Then set the fuel flow for the engines at 3000 lbs/hr per side (6000 lbs/hr total).  The plane should stable out at around 320 knots indicated.  If it does, they've got the thrust/drag curve in balance.
