Yep.  Everything as you said.  I can post the screen shots if you want, but not sure how to do so in this forum.  How about this I'll start a post in SAS' technical help forum with pictures.  The topic is "DCG: Red squadrons misclassified as Blue".

I see, it's here: http://www.sas1946.c...669.0;topicseen

Very strange, I see you added 176Squadron, 47Squadron, 146Squadron, and 131Squadron, all following the same name pattern,

Still you experience that 146Squadron and 131Squadron do not work properly, while the other two do.

I'll try to reproduce it when at home. Anyway (just another blind guess), please check whether you used any tabs (instead of spaces) after non-working squads.

Oh, tabs and spaces.  That could be it.  I will give it a try tonight when I get home.  So let me make it clear:

1. In the squadids file, the column on the left side is the data that DCG will use and the right column is simply a note to describe that squadron?  The right column is not used by DCG right?

2. So the space between the left column and right column should all be tabs instead of spaces?

3. Does it matter how many tabs after the id?

1. Correct, 1st is ID, 2nd is Description;

2. Just the opposite; you should use spaces, not tabs (although this should not affect the ID, but it's better to have spaces);

3. What matters is the character position: ID begins at #1, description begins at #25;

Yep, confirmed.  It's due to the tab/space problem.

Fine. Anyway, I made a squadids file with all the HSFX squads. You may want to test it. Use the UTF version and revert to the HSFX-orig version if you encounter character display problems.

Awesome.  I'll try it and report back.  Oh btw, another question.  I got another pink plane issue with fw190D9.  After a bit research, it was due to its droptank.  I flipped from cap to lower case and back, none of them worked.  So I just deleted droptank for D9 and it worked fine after that.  So based on what HSFX weapons file shows, D9 has no AG weapons and no tanks?  Just a pure AA fighter?

Yep, they are pure fighters. You should use my modified weapons file in DIT's 'basefiles_412+HSFX' folder. It's based on real game data.

Your squadids file works, but all British are now American.  It's weird.

Strange indeed. Have no clue why. Everything from gb01 to RA_NN should be British. Try to change

gb01                    <none>
back to
gb01                    RAF

I figured out why late last night.  There was a section under USAF that is a repeat of what is up in the British section.  You can go down the list and take a look.  If I remember correctly it's between the sections of AVG and 9AF. At first I thought those squadrons were part of the Eagle squadrons.  But a closer look, you can see some Czech squadrons.  I simply deleted them out.  Now it's working fine.

Yep, the whole section should be copied to the RAF section. Not the first time that the game files prove to be plainly wrong....

A typo in the original HSFX game files. Not the first we encounter, and not the last either...

I would simply delete them cuz those squadrons are duplicate of some the squadrons in gb01 section.  I tested a few maps, they work fine without it.

Another interesting observation.  Even though Air starts is unchecked, my flight is always airborne at the mission start.

This usually happens when more than 2 flights are taking off from the same airfield (when there's no enough place on the runway). Is this your case?

Yeah, it looks like that way.  How could I fix that?

Pandacat you can manually move around the units (...which is what I do) after you generate the 1st mission and set transfer "off", or you can make do the exact same thing in the timetable.dcg.

Note: There is a limited # of aircraft that can fit on a runway.

Yep, that's the 'cleanest' way. There are many other workarounds, but possibly you have to try more together.

1) play as squadron leader (i.e. always in the first flight);

2) or/and tune down the number of flights per squadron in DCG;

3) or/and make sure your squadron is stationed on an airfield, not on an airstrip (check the 'no transfer' option and distribute your squadrons manually or via timetable commands);

4) generally, avoid overcrowding airfields: if you use a 'dense' or 'full' squadron setting, do not station more than one bomber and one fighter squadron on the same airfield
