What a night... got my second flight online in BOS and what a chance for me, I was going to fly it with Britchot (that was also flying BOS at that time).

Well, the take-off wasn't that bad ( flying the 109 F4 ), Britchot took-off a bit later after finding the main runway in this icy Airfield over the Russian front.

Other than some problem with my key mapping, my in-game sound being a bit loud versus TS and knowing my instruments on the 109 F4, the first part of the flight went fairly well, flying not far from Britchot and moving to the East for escort or patrol duty!

After around 15 to 20 minutes, we did reach the Russian Front and spotted a lone plane a little under us... Britchot went over the plane to see if it was friendly or enemy, after confirming that it was an enemy, Britchot went in for a few shots, but the bandit was moving down fairly fast. On my part, following the action from above, I started a dive to try to follow the bandit, got the info that Britchot was breaking off, I then dove down and started to shoot a few rounds on the enemy plane... after just a few shots, I got a message saying.... « What the hell, stop shooting me General.... »... Oh no, I was sure that I was shooting the enemy, but NO, I was shooting my flight leader... ;(

I must say I was pretty down at that moment, saying many times « I was sorry »... Britchot was taking it fairly good and only said he had to find an Airfield to land, since my shots got a few time the engine. A bit later, second strike on my flight... a didn't activate the auto level before typing the in-game chat. I went straight to my death!

Well, I hope my errors will be the last one before my next flights on BOS!

Cheers,

Gen ;)

@Britchot: I'm sorry again for last night, and thanks for the flight...

Haha, no worries! No need to be so hard on yourself, I'm still working on my target identification in that game, too.

After you left I mistook a Yak for a Bf-109 and let him climb up on me.  Soon I was outnumbered by a second one and my advantage was squandered.  I managed to save myself for quite a while but when I went to start a rolling scissors, I stalled and crashed.

S!

Hey Herr Markof, take a look on this. It will help you with BoX Key mapping.

Wow, great stuff Hess!

I'm getting better with my key mapping...would love to keep the same on CloD and BOS(M).

Cheers,

Gen ;)
