Klaiber
That's bizarre.
Barton
lol it's just a gap in the AI logic. When it goes to attack you there's no overriding check on altitude. It's pretty fun. When I first figured it out I think I forced something like 5 or 6 in a row to kill themselves laughing the whole time.
IRFC Hawkeye
What was the AI skill level set on?
Barton
Ace or veteran
IRFC Hawkeye
I would say it's mostly because it's SPADs. It seems like the AI flies some planes in RoF a lot better than others. Any BnZ plane uses stupid tactics; the S.E.5a is absolutely terrible. However: if you want hard practice, try fighting against Pups, Camels, D.VIIfs, or D.VIIIs set to ace. Veteran is good too, actually probably a lot more realistic as to what you would encounter against human adversaries in terms of how accurate their gunnery is; ace is ridiculously accurate and if you're flying against 2 or more it's almost impossible to avoid being hit....it's stupid the way they hang prop and hit you very hard inverted in the loop; but it's great practice for avoidance, which is mainly what I use Ace for. I've seen what you showed in your video happen quite of few times, but I never tried to isolate the exact circumstances the way you did. Since for practice I fly against 2 or 3 enemies simultaneously by myself, it usually happens to one of the enemies that I might not be concentrating on at that specific moment (hey where did that other guy go? Oh, a wreck on the ground). However I don't usually choose SPADs, S.E.5as, etc. as enemies. I figure if you can kill AI Pups-Camels-D.VIIfs-D.VIIIs-ect. in any plane you're practicing in, you can kill anything AI. I only use the AI for target practice....just about any human flies a lot more smart, but is not as good in marksmanship; and the AI generally manages to turn tighter than most humans are able to, and also has that irritating ability to know exactly when your gun sight has a hitting solution, and jinks out of the way, the way no human can. Anyway my guess is that what you were able to do so consistently with the SPAD, might be harder with the previously mentioned plane set....and some others obviously. Any Alb is flown very well by the AI also, but I wouldn't say it's immune to the self-crash thing.
