MisterMark
I have started a new offline campaign and have column density set to 'full'. However when I generate the first mission and compare what's in the [chiefs] section of the mission file to what's in the columns.dcg file, I see some columns missing. It was my understanding that if you have column density set to 'full', all available columns would generate in the mission. Am I misunderstanding something? I've included the [chiefs] section of the mission file and the chiefs in the columns.dcg file to below to illustrate. You will notice chiefs 3, 4, 6, 7, 14 and 15 are not represented in the mission file even though the columns file clearly has them noted and in various states of advancing or combat. Any help understanding would be greatly appreciated. idefix44
Have a look at the bottom of [NStationary] item in the .mis file.
MisterMark
@idefix44 - here are the items at the bottom of the [NStationary] section of the mission file... I suppose I can make the assumption that chiefs 4 and 6 listed here are assets from the supply columns at @palermo but it doesn't explain why chief 3 which is an armor column isn't present. -Mark 4_Chief1 vehicles.stationary.Stationary$WillisMBtc_US 1 97497.00 26282.00 319.0 0.0 0 4_Chief2 vehicles.stationary.Stationary$DiamondT_US 1 97496.00 26265.00 319.0 0.0 0 4_Chief3 vehicles.artillery.Artillery$M2A1_105mm 1 97495.00 26248.00 319.0 0.0 0 4_Chief4 vehicles.stationary.Stationary$DiamondT_US 1 97494.00 26231.00 319.0 0.0 0 4_Chief5 vehicles.artillery.Artillery$M2A1_105mm 1 97493.00 26214.00 319.0 0.0 0 4_Chief6 vehicles.stationary.Stationary$Chevrolet_flatbed_US 1 97492.00 26197.00 319.0 0.0 0 4_Chief7 vehicles.artillery.Artillery$M16_US 1 97491.00 26180.00 319.0 0.0 0 6_Chief1 vehicles.artillery.Artillery$OpelBlitzMaultierAA 2 100494.00 28283.00 511.0 0.0 0 6_Chief2 vehicles.artillery.Artillery$Howitzer_150mm 2 100490.00 28267.00 511.0 0.0 0 6_Chief3 vehicles.stationary.Stationary$OpelBlitz6700A 2 100485.00 28250.00 511.0 0.0 0 6_Chief4 vehicles.artillery.Artillery$Howitzer_150mm 2 100480.00 28233.00 512.0 0.0 0 6_Chief5 vehicles.stationary.Stationary$OpelBlitz6700A 2 100475.00 28217.00 512.0 0.0 0 6_Chief6 vehicles.artillery.Artillery$Howitzer_150mm 2 100470.00 28201.00 512.0 0.0 0 6_Chief7 vehicles.stationary.Stationary$VW82t 2 100465.00 28184.00 512.0 0.0

No, it does not. And with the information present, it's hard to say why. The dcgerror.txt might have had a clue though.
MisterMark
@Lowengrin, I'm not sure I have a relevant copy of that file anymore... Is there a chance that the armor column 'chief 3' didn't show up in the mission file because it was in transit to the front via a train or truck column? Also, just wanted to confirm my original assumption about chiefs 4 and 6... are they not present in the mission file because they are unloaded at the contested area as the various battle assets of artillery, AT guns, AA wagons, etc listed at the end section [NStationary] of the mission file? -Mark
Lowengrin
Yes, that is possible. Did it spawn on the following mission?
MisterMark
@Lowengrin, never got to find out... I had scrapped the campaign right afterwards. On another note, when DCG displays a location for a active unit in the column panel (or in the column.dcg file for that matter) does it mean the column is leaving from that location during the upcoming mission? Or does it mean the column is headed to that location during the upcoming mission? Thank you, -Mark
