Sir,

The Home Base Friction feature is a Stock Game feature.

To play a Third Party DCG campaign (of my own) using the Tobruk map is extremely difficult in Dogfight Mode so much bumpy the ground is when taxiing from the spawning points to the runway.

Attached, a light .mis file. Try to take off from La Bomba (AF 21) in Dogfight Mode. Here, the landing axis is 315.

If you need more about this resquest, and the other I made, I'll enjoy to help if needed.

Thanks.

You should have it in your game but the "MDS Guide" cover the new HomeBase features.

IL-2 1946 Patch 4.10 Documentation: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=3996

Using the .mis file you should be able to enable friction.
I am not sure how much of the code DCG generates but here is the explanation of the [bornPlace] code through v4.12.2m. I don't think it has been changed since that version.

[bornPlace]
16 1250 8109 4265 1 555 250 90 0 75 3300 40 0 0 0 0 0 3.8 0 0 0 0 0

16 - HomeBase Color - (Properties Tab)

  • 0 None
  • 1 Red
  • 2 Blue
  • 3 Greeen
  • 4 Gold
  • 5 Purple
  • 6 Aqua
  • 7 Maroon
  • 8 Navy
  • 9 Emerald
  • 10 Olive
  • 11 Magenta
  • 12 Teal
  • 13 Orange
  • 14 Turquoise
  • 15 Brown
  • 16 Salad

1250 - HomeBase Radius - (Properties Tab)
(Sizes 500m to 9950m by 50m increments)

8109 - X Map Location

4265 - Y Map Location

1 - Parachutes - (Properties Tab)

  • 0 - Disabled (Player is unable to use a parachute when spawning at this HomeBase)
  • 1 - Enabled (Player is able to use a parachute when spawning at this HomeBase)

555 - Spawn Height (Meters) - (AirSpawn Tab)

250 - Aircraft Spawn Speed (KMH)) - (AirSpawn Tab)

90 - Aircraft Spawn Orient (Degrees/Heading, 0 - 359) - (AirSpawn Tab)

0 - Max Allowed Pilots - (Properties Tab)

  • 0 - Limited to hard coded spawn points at that location
  • 1 - Limited to less hard coded spawn points than are at that location

I have not been able to allow more Players than the number of hard coded locations within the HomeBase circle.
Even using Stationary aircraft as Spawn points has not overrode this limitation.

75 - FoW Min Height (Meters) - (Base FoW Tab)
(0-10000 meters)

3300 - FoW Max Height (Meters) - (Base FoW Tab)
(0-10000 meters)

40 - FoW Max Range (Kilometers) - (Base FoW Tab)
Radar “Object 76†must be placed within the confines of the HomeBase circle for Fog Of war (FoW) to function.

0 - Always AirSpawn - (AirSpawn Tab)

  • 0 - Disabled
  • 1 - Enabled (Player will always AirSpawn)

Used in conjunction with Spawn Height (Meters), Spawn Speed (KMH), & Aircraft Spawn Orient

0 - Enable Aircraft Limitations - (Properties Tab-Aircraft Limitations section)

  • 0 - Disabled (No aircraft limitations)
  • 1 - Enabled

(This enables aircraft and weapons limitations)

0 - HomeBase loses planes as they get destroyed - (Properties Tab-Aircraft Limitations section)

  • 0 - Disabled (No aircraft limitations)
  • 1 - Enabled

("Enable Aircraft Limitations" must be enabled for this to work.)

0 - Disable Spawning on this HomeBase - (Properties Tab)

  • 0 - Spawning allowed at this HomeBase
  • 1 - Spawning not allowed at this HomeBase

0 - Enable Friction for this HomeBase - (FMB Properties Tab)

  • 0 - Disabled
  • 1 - Enabled

3.8 - Friction Value - (FMB Properties Tab)
"Enable Friction for this HomeBase" must be enabled for this to work.
(0 to 3.8) 3.8 is the map default value for all textures.

0 - Static planes also affect this function - (Properties Tab-Aircraft Limitations section)

  • 0 - Disabled
  • 1 - Enabled

("HomeBase loses planes as they get destroyed" must be enabled for this to work.)

0 - Render HomeBase icon at Default Position - (Properties Tab)

  • 0 - Disabled
  • 1 - Enabled

This option allows you to hide the movement of those HomeBases that are placed on the carriers.
If Disabled when the Player joins the game or selects refly the HomeBase will move to the carriers current location on the map.
If Enabled the HomeBase location for the carrier will always remain at Waypoint 0.

0 - Air spawn if carrier deck is full - (AirSpawn tab)

  • 0 - Disabled
  • 1 - Enabled

When Disabled the Player will have to wait at the loading screen until the Carrier deck is clear
When Enabled the Player will spawn in the air using the Aircraft Spawn Height , Aircraft Spawn Speed & Aircraft Spawn Orient parameters.

0 - Use Stationary Planes as Spawn Points - (Properties Tab)

  • 0 - Disabled (Does not use Stationary Planes as Spawn Points)
  • 1 - Enabled (Uses Stationary Planes as Spawn Points)

The AI, Player Flyable, & BornPlace aircraft names do not always match.
For this reason some Stationary aircraft will not allow the Player to spawn into it since the game is looking for a different name.

0 - Return used stationary plane to original position - (FMB Properties Tab)

  • 0 - Disabled (Does not return Stationary Plane to original HomeBase location)
  • 1 - Enabled (Does return Stationary Plane to original HomeBase location)

"Use stationary Planes as Spawn points" must be enabled for this to work.

"Return used stationary plane to original position" has some interesting quirks when it is enabled.
When Enabled the aircraft will return to the Original location at the HomeBase where it was chosen.
When Enabled and the aircraft is transferred to another HomeBase the place where the game first thinks it stopped becomes its "Original" location at the base where it transferred.
This is important because the game will put the stationary aircraft at that location when the Player clicks refly.
This makes for an interesting problem when the game places the stationary aircraft right in the middle of the runway.

My request isn't about how it works and/or how to use it but to add the MDS Home Base features.to the [bornPlace] in the mission files created by DCG.

Currently we get this (from my own Italy_Online campaign):

[bornPlace]
  2 2000 111650 114050
  2 2000 110050 113200
  2 2000 111000 90700
  2 2000 120700 144900
  2 2000 127600 79100
  1 2000 85700 16400
  1 2000 83700 15900
  2 2000 40000 260000
  1 2000 90000 -100000
  1 2000 110000 -100000

My request is about to get this:

[bornPlace]
  2 2000 111650 114050 1 555 250 90 0 75 3300 40 0 0 0 0 1 X.Y 0 0 0 0 0
  2 2000 110050 113200 1 555 250 90 0 75 3300 40 0 0 0 0 1 X.Y 0 0 0 0 0
  2 2000 111000 90700 1 555 250 90 0 75 3300 40 0 0 0 0 1 X.Y 0 0 0 0 0

  1 2000 83700 15900 1 555 250 90 0 75 3300 40 0 0 0 0 1 X.Y 0 0 0 0 0
  2 2000 40000 260000 1 555 250 90 0 75 3300 40 0 0 0 0 1 X.Y 0 0 0 0 0
  1 2000 90000 -100000 1 555 250 90 0 75 3300 40 0 0 0 0 1 X.Y 0 0 0 0 0
  1 2000 110000 -100000 1 555 250 90 0 75 3300 40 0 0 0 0 1 X.Y 0 0 0 0 0

If you are able to get it currently using DCG, how do you do?

Many thanks Wheels for all your participations about IL2. I always read your posts carefully here and elsewhere (M4T, 1C and so on)

I figured DCG only generated part of the code but I didn't realize it generated so little.
Unless/Until Paul decides it is worth his time to add it to DCG you would need to alter the .mis file for each mission if you wanted the friction function to work.
Sorry I can't be more help than that. :(

Does DCG generate the extra "BornPlace" and "BornPlaceCountries" sections

Ex:

[BornPlace]
  1 3000 36249 368061 1 1000 200 0 0 0 5000 50 0 1 1 0 1 1.5 0 0 0 0 0 (BornPlace0 - BornPlaceCountries0)
  1 3000 27214 371933 1 1000 200 0 0 0 5000 50 0 1 1 0 1 1.5 0 0 0 0 0 (BornPlace1 - BornPlaceCountries1)
  1 500 377300 114000 1 1000 200 0 0 165 6500 50 0 1 1 0 1 1.5 0 1 0 0 0 (BornPlace2 - BornPlaceCountries2)
[BornPlace0]
  P-40M
  B-25C-25NA 0
(No B-25's available at this HomeBase.
One can be "transferred from another HomeBase.
There are no weapons loadout restrictions on any B-25 that is "transferred" to this HomeBase.)
[BornPlaceCountries0]
  us
  nn
[BornPlace1]
  B-25C-25NA 0
[BornPlaceCountries1]
  us
  nn
[BornPlace2]
  B-25C-25NA 25 4x500lbs
(25 aircraft restricted to 4x500lb loadout - There is a 255 character line limit that can cause problems with aircraft having several weapons loadouts)
[BornPlaceCountries2]
  us
  nn

I suspect it does not because those Born place sections limit what is available at those HomeBases. This includes the aircraft type, aircraft inventory, their weapons, and Countries.

DCG is fully compatible with IL2SC. On Ciel-De-Guerre, the mission duration is set to one hour. DCG, automatically, creates the missions that IL2SC runs one after another. Even if the front line move slowly and if the different missions seem to be the same, there are never two time the same.

After thousands hours using IL2 and DCG, I always enjoy them. My requests are from an old virtual pilot fanatical of the best flight simulator of all times wich want DCG to be smarter and smarter, if possible.

Thanks to Sir Lowengrin.
