The following JG I pilots are being recognized for their actions during Session B4 of Flanders In Flames 2017 "Fall Campaign" (flown on 16 December 2017).

  • Hptm. Baron von Faehig, Jasta 6 (session #B4, 16 December 2017), posthumously, for bravery and exceptionally meritorious deeds in combat [awe-inspiring streak - 24 air victories, 4 ground victories, and 7 wounded-in-actions over 58 sorties (420 days!).  This is the second highest merit award in JG1 Richthofen.]

 

Saxon Knight's Cross of the Military Order of St. Henry

  • Lt. Snaggle Herziger, Jasta 4 (session #B4, 16 December 2017), posthumously, for conspicuous personal bravery on the battlefield or, more frequently in the case of officers of higher rank, for merit in positions of great responsibility [awe-inspiring streak - 3 air victories, 24 ground victories and 4 wounded in actions over 21 sorties. This was the highest streak of any JG1 ground pounder.]
  • Oblt. Stefan (Steewe) Schwarz, Jasta 6 (session #B4, 16 December 2017), posthumously, for conspicuous personal bravery on the battlefield or, more frequently in the case of officers of higher rank, for merit in positions of great responsibility [fantastic streak - 9 air victories and 7 wounded-in-actions over 32 sorties (287 days!).]

  • Gfr. Erich (Razwald) Vogel, Jasta 11 (session #B4, 16 December 2017), for bravery and merit, beyond the call of duty. [outstanding leadership and esprit de corps].

  • Lt. Peter Pragr, Jasta 6 (session #B4, 16 December 2017), posthumously, for gallantry in battle, but also extraordinary fidelity and essential service. [good streak - 9 ground victories and 2 wounded-in-actions over 3 sorties.]
  • OffzSt. Martin Weiss, Jasta 6 (session #B4, 16 December 2017), for gallantry in battle, but also extraordinary fidelity and essential service. [esprit de corps.]
  • Oblt. Wilhelm (Wiley) Luftritter, Jasta 4 (session #B4, 16 December 2017), for gallantry in battle, but also extraordinary fidelity and essential service. [esprit de corps.]
  • Uffz. Werner (danudet) Kliegmann, Jasta 4 (session #B4, 16 December 2017), for gallantry in battle, but also extraordinary fidelity and essential service. [esprit de corps.]

Just a comment. The medal awards are nice. They look very pretty. There is something much more important here. It is the listing of accomplishments and the appreciation for these magnificent deeds. It is an inspiration to all.
