For the skins JG1_MiG-21Bis_Green Luftwaffe BORT, JG1_MiG-21Bis_Silver Luftwaffe BORT and JG1_MiG-21Bis_Tan Luftwaffe BORT it's confusing how to get your BORT number to display correctly (the last two numerals of your assigned number). I had to make a workaround of the hardcoded DCS bort system in order to make it work at all. Attached is a graphic depiction which is much easier than trying to explain it verbally. The "Not visible" can be any numeral. I generally use 0. So for my 441 Bort to be displayed as 41, I type in 104.

I've been a bit lax on doing JG1 skins lately since I've had other interests. I'm currently taking a break from historical skins, so if you want a personal JG1 skin, post ideas here. (No clown cars please... 🥳. They should be historically plausible).

It appears to be gloss or close to it. Would you be OK with a gloss rendition? It also appears that the fuselage cross was overpainted. I assume RLM 75 gray. Also, I've read some people think that the background of the Demon was actually sky blue. (I prefer the yellow though). Can you confirm the color?

This skin represents the early MiG-15s of the DDR. I'm rendering these early ones as nice and shiny. The ground crews were probably proud of their "new" planes that Comrade Stalin had given to them and spent many hours polishing them to a high sheen. (Love the roughmets in DCS!). Is it too much? I am beginning to work on the skins for these two planes and will entertain requests. Post requests in this thread. If no requests I will use the pilot's DR1 and DVII skins as a guide for them.

Gen had asked last night for JG1 color standards and I said I would send him a psd with the colors. I had thought that I had one made up but I can't seem to find among the myriad of files in my Skinning folders. I figure that my Fokker DVII psd might be best since it has the JG1 standard colors (as noted in this post): There are also non standard colors such as Klai's Pink and Snaggle's Navy colors which I am working on for him (which will, of course, be submitted for review before being inserted into the JG1 skin pack.) Here is the link (it's fairly large at about 500 MB): https://www.dropbox.com/s/atbwjc5mqrp76o5/FokkerD7F_Public this one.psd?dl=0

Morning, gents. I've driven the 3rd Pursuit Group to madness with my skin-pack updates as I work towards repainting our SPAD XIIIs, so I thought that I'd give them a break by irritating you fine people with my skinmaking nerd-isms instead. I became the 3rd Pursuit Group's "Paintmeister" largely through the fact that we didn't have one, and I'd tried my hand at it before. What that led to was myself falling down a seemingly infinite rabbit hole of perfectionism, where I became totally determined to make our skins as totally "real" as they could possibly be. At first this started with me trying to switch the "Font" numbers our old ships had to properly "Handpainted"…

Does anyone have actual photos of Focke Wulf Fw 190 A-4 Flown by Oberleutnant Wolfgang Leonhardt, 6./JG 1, Woenstrecht/Holland, October 31 1942? While doing the new Fw190A-3 skins I became intrigued by this camo scheme and decided to do a historical skin. All that I can find so far is artwork and scale models. I'd like to have some photographic verification though. The stripes vary from crisp (unlikely) to airbrush (more likely) and differ in how they terminate at the nose. Would anyone want this scheme for their personal skin?

Hey, gents! Recently I've been working on yet another revision of the 3rd P.G's SPADs, to "fill in the historical blanks" that I missed with the last iteration. One thing that has been most irritating has been trying to perfectly replicate the unique appearance of the French dopes that were used to paint USAS SPAD XIIIs. For a little context, French 5-colour dope had aluminium powder worked into the dope. A very thorough USAS report from 1918, about the mixing and application of these dopes, stated that "The surfaces are neither glossy nor dull but can be highly reflective", which is what I've been trying to emulate. After weeks of tweaking, re-tweaking, and ge…
