  1. I'm juggling a few things right now, I've tossed things together so I can participate in the latest race series. Goal is quick disconnect from Flying, Racing and KB/Mouse setup. The platform is solid, just need a mounting strategy which I'll work through when the balance of work is complete for the overall basement project. It's been alot of work, but getting the carpet out of the basement was important. Sub floor already making the room feel better (I know you don't see it, but it does feel more comfortable and cleaner). I do use the Monster Mounts which I really love. I probably over think these things, but I do rather enjoy the process. S!

  5. Yeah, don't be sad or discouraged. You were facing very tough odds, from what I can figure. Well done!

  6. No, no.....but thanks for the thought. I actually have stuff like that here, but to remove what I have would be a PITA, and figure out how to surface mount it, not to mention I"d have to reassign everything in two sims. The easiest thing at this point would be a grip that would mount to my base. But for now I'll just see what Virpil's response is. Best to take things one step at a time. Thanks for the offers and thoughts, Vonrd and everyone. In the end, I dug this grave and may have to lie in it for a while. I had a great look at how you guys have gotten along without me (thanks to Hotlead's live stream), and the results of that makes me very happy....well done! Keep up the great work!! S!

  7. I don't think that procedure was discovered until many years after WWI... late WW2 maybe at the earliest. I've used it when flying aerobatics. It's a combination of expelling breath in bursts... the "Hick"...and tightening your abdominal muscles... the best way I can describe is what you do on the pot when you're constipated and trying to force one out.

  8. Here's my little man cave. Sadly I don't have any critters roaming around the house (save for myself), so no bonus points for me. Apologies for thr cable management, or lack thereof. Need to get me some cable ties...

  10. After posting I thought is this okay to do? In this post I purely want you to show how the space looks like, where I sit while I meet you guys in the virtual skies. No one thinks or cares the same as others about their stuff, for instance I'm not a great car washer, but I do care a lot for my bows, that makes us as human beings different and beautiful. By no means I have a negative feeling about someone who has organized his rig in an other way or wants to spend more or less money on the set up. On the contrary I find that interesting. I'm open for suggestions to improve my space with ..... yeah I know I don't have a MW poster The original post: @Lipfertwas brave/open enough to share his gaming area with us in his post here When I went through the post I thought "This is funny/interesting to see how other members have their gaming rig set up." We spent a lot of ours behind this machine, flying reading posting editing creating so why not show that to each other. How cool would it be to show their 'cockpit' (on my cellphone with automatic word proposal this sentence could have ended in a criminal offence) Than I saw this video from the Grim Reapers (a DCS warband), at first I was shocked, than I couldn't stop laughing: this can't be true. I'm still under the impression that all this is was a joke. If done scarier things than this so I would like to show you all my gaming PC Set U, so here is my space without the details of the hard ware (is that worth knowing?) : I use the table also for some model building. Underneath my chair I have a Buttkicker Gamer 2.

  12. Updated the skins of the Pfalz D3A and Albatros DV based on tip from @Vonrd. Looking at my emblem it was okay for WW I but it looks kinda stupid on WW II planes. With the double Yellow 4. I changed the emblem a bit so now its more an emblem than a serial number (I hope). I'm truly sorry for the extra work @Klaiber. I will send you the large emblem in a PM. NB now I hope that these skins are okay, if so I will update the others with the new emblem.

  19. Just to inform you: Virpil has created a new throttle (€270) and a S-curved extension (€50) for the joystick. Pre-orders are open until 11 October.

  20. Don't you do that....when you can get one of these (or other brand) Monster mounts that lower your devices in a completely adjustable way: Monster mounts Even if they don't make an adapter plate for your specific stick (not sure about that), you can easily make an adapter plate of your own from plywood, plexiglas, whatever. Just take out the screws from the bottom side of your base and get longer ones to cover the width of the adapter plate (sheet metal screws, most likely). You get the idea.

  21. Why does it require a Raspberry Pi? Couldn't you do the same thing by having two monitors off your video card and drag a jpg to the other screen? Klaiber: Lol you're lucky. My cats don't contribute. Here's my small setup. I like the Force Feedback. I am considering cutting away that curve on my desk so that I can mount my throttle below the desk.

  22. It look a lot of negotiation, trying to convince them that they wanted to be in the beds, but it works. In the above picture, my co-pilot (Stoli) is on the left. My navigator (Jinxy) is usually on the right, but was on shore leave when this picture was taken. Here's another showing the full crew complement.

  24. The (computer) hardware is really worth knowing at this moment in time, but it will seem ridiculous later in time I've posted picture before on other areas of this forum, but it is much easier to just post a new one....those others are buried. It is obvious we are much the same, Heinrich, with our Virpil and MFG pedal setups....the only difference is really how they're mounted, and as far as I'm concerned, it's mainly how it ends up feeling to the user, in the end. It is just a picture, but it can't convey the sense of ease I feel in using it. Technically, the lower screen is "bigger", but it is only because screens are measured diagonally. However, the resolution on that screen is 2K, compared to the screen above it, which is 1K. But it is a gaming monitor, and so has much faster response times. If you look closely, you will see Klaiber's current rig, cat and all, pictured on my main (lower) screen. The control harware is entirely Virpil of course, but with the "new" (soon to be obsolete) CM2 grip. I scoot my non-wheeled, non-rotating chair up to within a finger's width, centered, of that keyboard tray. Nothing moves; everything is exact. Then I am ready to kill folks (who are not on my team) I love this shit. BTW, the lit magnifying glass in your picture (left side), we used to use those all of the time in my old electronics technician job to do very small repairs on circuit boards. BTW, BTW, every thing to the left and right is books. I read every night that I'm not too tired

Kameraden, Thanks folks, when people younger than me start dropping dead it's a shocker. Not to mention, we just buried his father in January. Told my wife on the way home I'm not planning for retirement anymore, my MB C350 is going back next month and I'm getting this now instead of waiting.

  26. I've tried everything I can think of on the software or computer side. It really seems like a failure on the hardware side. From everything I can see, my grip appears to be DOA. Since my hardware comes from a long way off....the resolution would have to take weeks if not months. Sigh. One thing that might be beneficial is if anybody can tell a method that ensures that a driver is deleted, along with the hardware. I feel that it is possible that the old (possibly corrupted) driver is not being renewed. However, it is entirely possible, after firmware re-installations, profile re-intializations and attempted re-calibrations, that there is no solution beyond new hardware. I've started a ticket with Virpil, and honestly, it is not about the money should I have to repay....it is about the time lost. I guess I'll miss you guys for a long while, if nothing miraculous happens. So please live-stream, record, or whatever. I will live vicariously through you until I can actually fly again. S!
