October 23, 20233 yr comment_85847 @Ludwig will enjoy this as Duke Cummingham is front and center.... FYI: LT Norm Walker (guy with mustache in the ready room), was the reason I choose the more laid back life of a helicopter pilot. Way too much ego. 😆 Report
October 23, 20233 yr comment_85850 Thanks buddy, this was a lot of fun. We had the American Fighter Aces Association reunion in San Antonio exactly 1 year ago. Duke and I looked really old. All the WW II guys are gone and not many were in Korea and only 2 in Vietnam. The end of the story Duke tells about Willie wanting to eject is that they held off ejecting until they were over the water and when he made the call eject eject eject he said all I got out was EEJ..... and he was out because "hair trigger" Willie wasn't waiting at all. There was also a comment from Willie that the fire was a lot closer to him than Duke. That's me with the Marine Fighter instructor of the year getting in some ice time. We have a lot of fun and I am still working on getting him on DCS.    Report
