Klaiber Posted January 18, 2024 Report Posted January 18, 2024 I thought some people here might appreciate this: https://amnesia-restored.com/ This is a restored version of the text adventure game Amnesia, originally released in 1986. It was written by sci-fi writer Thomas M. Disch and programmed by Kevin Bentley. Snaggle 1 Quote
Ludwig Posted January 19, 2024 Report Posted January 19, 2024 Hey that's pretty neato.... I played DEADLINE by INFOCOM back when we got our IBM 8086 computer. Had to use floppies, we couldn't afford the 1 meg hard drive, it was $1,000 Klaiber 1 Quote
Klaiber Posted January 19, 2024 Author Report Posted January 19, 2024 It reminded me of the good old days in the Computer Lab at college. Quote

Britchot Posted January 20, 2024 Report Posted January 20, 2024 One of my first games was “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”, a text based game on my parent’s IBM PC. It came with some bonus stuff, like a baggie of pocket lint, a button that said “Don’t Panic”, and a pair of black cardboard sunglasses that “dimmed when danger was near.” I got stuck at one point and got my parents go get me the novel to read in order to figure it out. I was 8. Klaiber and wheelsup_cavu 2 Quote
