Razwald
Johnny Burnette and the Rock 'n Roll Trio, Train Kept a Rollin': I was aware of the Yardbirds and Zepplin. Not to mention Aerosmith. Now I'm curious how many have covered it. Klaiber
Klaiber
Johnny Burnette's version is my personal favorite. The fuzz tone on the solo is killer for 1956. Many historians have said its the first recorded example of intentionally distorted guitar in rock music. And once you hear the Tiny Bradshaw 1951 original, it becomes really clear that The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, and Aerosmith are being inspired by Burnette. The B-side, Honey Hush, is also kick-ass. The Rock and Roll Trio really should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

EmerlistDavjack
And now for something completely different: My dad used to play a CD of Sea Shanties on roadtrips, so I have some bizarre affinity for nautical music. This happens to be a neo-prog nautical-esque masterpiece from Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings (he plays every instrument except alto-sax and drums). Karl Spackler
Here's something new. Totally by accident very in the vein of the legacy of KC and Dream Theater (especially in the unison melodic runs) and other proggy greatness from days past. I like the use of space and dynamic changes to try to build tension keep you a little off balance with hugely satisfying resolves. Lotsa guys will just try to djent their way through, and that gets tedious after a bit. Klaiber and Razwald
