On a related note, the 40% off for the Mirage as finally convinced me to switch from the Steam version to the standalone!

I saw that last night while flying the L-39 with Klaiber and Trev.  I'll definitely pick up the Mirage and probably go ahead and get the Gazelle just because it's a fun little helo. 

The Gazelle is one airframe right now but will soon be two. The first is the current SA-342M that has the VIVIANE roof mounted TV/IR sight and HOT3 missiles. We'll also be getting the guns version that has a reflex sight and guns a la the Huey. 

 

It's a tricksey little bird. Klaiber couldn't find me until I was HOGE and making dust.

Myself, I have both 1.5 and 2.0 but the MiG-21 shakes so bad in Nevada that I've just been flying 1.5.  Klaiber's map is 1.5, so we've been messing around there.  

So, I would say the majority of our cooperative stuff is on 1.5.

Well this is good to hear! I've been meaning to get into DCS at some point but never had. Which are the best packs to get for a intro with the possibility to fly with you?

We've focused mainly on the MiG-15bis and MiG-21bis. However, I do believe most of us have several modules, to include the German WWII aircraft.

Yeah, I've got everything except the C-101 and the Gazelle. And the Mirage.. but two more days until pay day for that!

 

Trev, have you guys been flying regularly at all? If so, when?

Brit, Trev, and I have started flying DCS again on Friday nights, usually around 10PM EDT.

The Mirage shall be mine, such a great looking aircraft (I bought the F-5E as I could not resist).

I bought the F-5, also. Pure secks machine.

Omg I want the F-5 so bad. I'm having to decide between it and the Mirage. Mirage is out, so it might win out.

I have the Mirage, and love flying it.  A nice counter-point to the MiG-21.  Can't wait for the F-5!  Have already pre-ordered.

Hmm, I just picked up the Mirage, I'm thinking I'll keep holding out on the F-5.  It would have been better if they made a MiG-28, though 

 

Honestly, one of those developers needs to get 1960-75 Hanoi as an official Map.

Picked up the L-39. Flys  just like I remember it except Dutch roll is more exaggerated in the DCS model. 

The base DCS: World is free, full function and comes with the Su-25T Frogfoot and the TF-51D Mustang inf you just want to try it out before you commit.
