taly001 Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 I am trying to understand how DCG Campaign settings do air starts when no player airfield on map eg.Rabaul for the New Guinea and Guadacanal maps. Original il2 doesn't(?) seem to allow this as the player always needs an airfield/carrier (can't pickup starting base) in campaigns. I also can't see any spawn point when i look at the .mis in mission map editor? Quote
JG7_X_Man Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 DCG allows campaign creators make "off map" airfields (...virtual "dummy" airfields). As long as "Air Starts" is checked in your options - you appear somewhere close to the front line. That's the basic gist anyway. Quote
taly001 Posted August 19, 2016 Author Report Posted August 19, 2016 Ok so it is a DCG.exe coded feature, il2 editor spawn point is only for multiplayer? The DCG one is nice as it lets you use island maps easier for both sides. Is there any online tutorials on DCG, I searched and the best I found was by Scharnhorst1943 at http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=126&t=1770&start=30 Quote
Lowengrin Posted August 19, 2016 Report Posted August 19, 2016 I recently pulled the tutorials that were available for download (when I turned off the old Lowengrin.com site). Let me see if I can upload them here. Edit: no, file size limitations are too small. Quote
Lowengrin Posted August 19, 2016 Report Posted August 19, 2016 Along with Scharnhost's information, Tailspin did some: members.shaw.ca/lowengrin/dcg_campaign_info_v321.zip They're dated but have the core information. Quote
taly001 Posted August 20, 2016 Author Report Posted August 20, 2016 Wow that document is great! I admit I have not used il2 since 4.01 so I am bouncing around between using DGen, DGen_Mod and DCG which is driving me nuts.......... Quote
