S! All,

Jasta 5 is going to host a great campaign called Black September.  It will be run on Saturdays in September (the 10th, 17th and 24th) at 1700-2130 GMT on the J5 server.

I highly recommend people check it out!  JG1 will definitely be participating. And FIF XXV will be delayed until early October to allow everyone to fly in both events!

You can register for Black September here: http://www.jasta5.org/events/blacksept/blacksept.htm

The rules should be posted soon! Expect more information from Jasta 5 in the coming weeks.

 Why it's so complcated.....

I registered on first link than registered on second than redirected to forum to login, but there's no link to register on the forum... No clue where to register on forum to send report.

I'd like to take part, but it's impossible to get through registration.

Gamecock and I have put some clarifying stuff on our forums and in a new thread on the ROF boards.

---------------

CURRENTLY you cannot register a completely new account on the Jasta 5 board - it was locked down because of attacks by a registration spam/ad bot.
PEOPLE WITHOUT A FORUM ACCOUNT CAN STILL PARTICIPATE - we hope to have this resolved soon.

1. The most important thing is to make sure you fill out the registration form and submit it here: http://www.jasta5.or...t/blacksept.htm (hit click to register button at the bottom of that page)
And also registering on our parser, stats.jasta5.org if you have not already done so. Once that is done, even if you don't have an account on the J5 site, you're really OK to go - you just can't get communications via the forum.

Note:  You will NOT receive a confirmation email after submitting registration but you WILL get a confirmation page prompting you to get on our forums.

If you have a J5 forum account and are still having issues:

2. REMOVE Entente Operations OR Central Operations from being your default usergroup if you have that set.

3. Try to go to the user profiles and making the "Bloody April/Black Sept" user group the default group. This might help. <---we actually manually reset a large number of accounts to this today, and hope it will fix your issues.

An update for everyone - our server is now open for testing of the Black September Maps.

Forum access issues - I believe we have sorted out the password retrieval issues.  Go try it!  And HOPEFULLY forum registration will turn back on within 24 hours.  Waiting for someone to flip a switch for me.

Thanks,

Matthias

Another update folks,

 - The registration issue with Jasta 5 forums has been fixed.  New accounts may be created

 - old forgotten passwords should also be able to be reset.

 - If you tried to get into the server earlier and got a file transfer error, try again.  That got fixed too.

Thanks,

Matthias

I'm registered to event, parser, and forum. I applied myself as a pending member of Black Sept group. Still I can't write anything on forum.

- Can anyone "Check me in" in "Check-In-Thread"?

There is a place in Hell prepared for a man who created this J5 forum....

Guys, a few quick updates.

Rules and full event description has been posted here:  http://www.jasta5.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=117&t=14253

See the rules clarifications here:  http://www.jasta5.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=117&t=14257

Team breakout for registered participants is here:  http://www.jasta5.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=115&t=14255

Also, French sector map deployed to test server.  Of particular note, and different from the British Sector, the special objective involves hunting for lost Gothas and shepherding them back home.

Per discussion in this thread:

- Skin and weapon mod lock on the practice server have been removed.

- Custom skins and weapon mods are ON for the entire campaign.

- The Felixstowe with the -Radio name is for doing naval gunnery spotting for the Royal Navy.  There is a  set of Brandenburg W12s on the other side to do the same for the Germans.  If the -Radio plane dies, an =Escort of the same type may be spawned and exited there to reequip it properly for the naval gunnery spotting work.  When you enter the zone a timer starts and you get a popup message saying you're spotting.  When you leave the zone or die the timer stops, and then it continues from where it left off when the next equipped plane enters the zone.  You cannot trick or confuse the counter by running multiple -Radio planes in a zone.

- The rules which were just posted will answer a lot of the other questions here, but I encourage you to jump into the server and have a look before hand too so you can get acquainted with the feel.
