Game alt-tabs when I press "Generate"

Hello,

My game alt tabs when I press the Generate button, I am on the newest version of BAT and would appreciate any help! I followed the directions to the T just to be sure but the issue keeps happening.

Does it still generate the mission?  (Even if you have to alt+tab back into the game.)

Nope, the screen stays the exact same when I open it back up, pressing generate again yields the same results.

Check to see if both the IL-2 folder and all its subfolders are NOT read-only.  And also the DCG folder and subfolders.  If all of them aren't read-only, set them to read-only and try again.  And if that doesn't work, please upload/post the dcgerror.txt file here for me to see.

Did what you said and now when I press generate it throws this error for the third party campaign I wanted to use. Game crashes and shows no data found for for none in the CLASS.DCG file

Looks like an error with the Class.DCG file which was designed for the mod.  "None" is not an acceptable value.  "none" is.  (No caps).

Still having issues after changing the case. Did a full reinstall and now when I press generate it either alt tabs me or just does nothing no matter how many times I click it. The log doesn't show anything when either of those happen.

I don't follow the development of BAT, but perhaps the most recent version has added some items which have messed things up...?  Maybe someone with more knowledge of BAT and DCG will chime in.  

In the meantime, you could post the error file.  Even if that error is gone, there may be a hint of what else is going on.

My current BAT version is 4.3 + the patch with the up to date DCG, I've seen some people with similar issues online and they either just don't resolve it or say "Fixed it!" with no explanation.

What campaign(s) have you attempted to create?  And are they offline or online?  The log is showing that no campaign has been selected (it's as if you've run DCG for the first time).

So far third party campaigns by Shakaali, I've generated some French campaigns but they have the same issues as the third party ones. I've only done offline so far

Trying to think of something I did wrong with the install. I did install this version of DGEN here: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,61913.0.html

Would installing this version instead of the DGEN that came with BAT cause an issue?

DCG will actually back up DGEN and then overwrite it with DCG.  So it doesn't matter what DGEN you have installed.  I suggest that you try a "vanilla" DCG campaign or two (I don't know if Shakkaali's are up to date).  To test, a German or Soviet campaign is probably the safest.

Not sure what I did but now it's working, only thing different I did was try a static campaign then I did the setup wizard i finally found in the DCG interface. I never saw anything about it in the documentation but now I can generate a campaign.

Found the source of the issue, when IL-2 crashed it left the DGEN exe running, so anytime you pressed generate it either alt tabbed or did nothing, ending the process will make it work again.

Of course.  I should have thought of that.  (I really should add a routine to see if it's already running and warn the user if it is.)
