I was reminded of this the other day, while thinking about my old VHS collection.

 

Called "Russian Top Gun", it came out in April 1990.

 

When I was in High School, I used to watch it all the time.

 

Not the most riveting or accurate documentary out there.  But I guess you have to keep in mind that it was released during the last year of the Cold War, about a year before the Soviet Union collapsed.
