Noob question: How can I choose the player squadron via interface?

As said in the title. I get thrown in the first available squadron and didn't find how to choose the squadron in the first place. I can only choose which service I'm in.

It probably has an obvious answer, but I'm not finding it.

I did manage to choose the squadron ingame with a 3rd party campaign, but only by selecting "Replace Career Generator (DGen)". Is there a way to select the squadron via the app interface, without replacing the career generator?

The Career Generator is the Campaign generator. If you don't replace it you are playing with the stock DGen.

Mods to the stock campaign generator are Asura's Dgen and Enjoyr's Dgen
