  1. XX should be changed to next mission day. I don't see [Normandy44] in timetable.dcg. I only saw Newguinea42, Norway44, Riga41,Marenth line43 etc.
  2. I deleted that entry from column.dcg file. It seems to work now. However, the allied ground forces are so dumb and inept. I disabled many static objects, mostly antitank guns and howitzers. What would be any other better ways to strengthen Allied ground forces?
  3. Yeah, QMB works fine. I am currently using 3.47. I guess reinstalling DCG will be my last resort.
  4. Basically, it was the normandy campaign under DCG. All my missions were successful, but the ground forces are still being pushed back by Germans. So I was trying to beef up Allied forces with a tank column. So I went to the ground unit editor to add a new column. Suddenly I got that error message popping up "Access violation, blah blah blah" with a bunch of memory address things. I went back into the campaign, it kept crashing. Not only that, I was trying to start a different campaign. It crashed again. So basically since I did this in the middle of the campaign, the campaign is corrupted now, correct? So if I just delete the whole corrupted campaign, would this issue go away?
  5. I was trying to add a ground column. But I got an error message "Illegal access..." Is there anyway that I can delete this column?
  6. Hi just have a quick suggestion. Can we include in the control panel a toggle switch that would allow user to pick either standard stock plane list or HSFX plane list? I am gonna compile the HSFX plane list and prep those 3 files for DCG (payload, allclass and allpayload). I know a lot of people are interested in playing HSFX planes in DCG and DCG works well with HSFX. (at least from my experience, there hasn't been any issues.) The switch I would imagine can backup default stock files and use HSFX files for DCG when switch is set on HSFX and vice versa. Just a thought. Not sure if it is doable.
  7. I know in regular dgen, you won't rejoin the ranks immediately. I remember one time I got wounded during New Guinea campaign and when I returned it was 1945 in Kyoshu campaign. But I didn't get purple heart.
  8. A question about wounded in action. If I got wounded but landed back or parachuted in friendly territory, would that count as a death still? Also, if WIA occurs, is there recuperation period getting factored in when I rejoin the rank?
  9. If you select random for cloud height in panel "Custom Mission Selection", the cloud will sometimes appear at 0 altitude. Would it be possible to just randomize a range of value? For instance just randomize between 3000 to 5000?
  10. I have experienced similar issue before. As far as I can remember, that was somewhat related to "refly" button. I remember someone said you are not supposed to refly your mission unless you are killed in the mission. Say you fly a mission and shot down 2 planes and isn't happy with the result. You click refly and shoot down 3 planes this time. When you are done, your stat will show 5 kills instead of the 3 your want. In another word, you can keep refly the same mission and got hundreds of kills if you wish to .
  11. I don't mind date jumps. IRL, pilots need rest and recuperation. After a certain number of missions, they get rotated back to their countries. Often some of them won't get to see action again until several months later.
  12. The problem is Buna never gets captured even after 40+ straight winning missions. The front line just stagnates around the city. I got "mission accomplished" message every mission. The IJ planes have been swept from the sky. The sky belongs completely to Allies. It seems the success in air has no impact on ground battles. This makes me wonder if the mini campaign is winnable.
  13. Lonestar, have you tried USAAF grandcamp? I just want to make sure that it's progress correctly. Currently it seems to stagnate on New Guinea42 for ever.
  14. Oh, I thought what comes next to Guadal43 should be Palau. Cuz when you first start grandcamp, you see a list of mini campaigns. It seems the grandcamp progression follows that list. But I am not 100% certain. Btw, how do you view ground war? It seems the only ground object that I can view is carrier.
  15. I played USMC Guadalcanal 43 map for 40+ missions and winning almost every one of them.(I always get "mission accomplished, great run..." message. But the campaign doesn't seem to advance to the next map. I checked grandcampaign.dcg file. There is no "Guadalcanal 43 to 'whatever comes next" section. Is that why I don't see campaign progression? Same thing goes for USAAF's New Guineas 42 campaign. The front line is so close to Buna, just never gets to capture the city.
  16. Yep. It worked. Thanks. I also noticed that all western european theater battles have dates in grand campaign. Other battles such as eastern european or pacific ones have no dates. It seems the original DCG was designed and tested based on western european theater. I can modify the whole grandcampaign file and send it to for inclusion in the next patch.
  17. Sounds good, Paul. I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes.
  18. I am currently using 4.11.1M with HSFX 6.17 and expert mode. Would that have any effect on time passage? Thanks, Sniper.
  19. Well it's not working on mine. Should I select random instead of normal on general campaign panel? Let me know how I can help to fix this bug. Post my log file etc?
  20. I have the option already checked, but still campaign doesn't advance based on historical date. It's always one day+. I didn't alter DCG in any way, except a few minor changes under those panels. Please enlighten me on the log files. Where to look for bugs. I just need my campaign advance correctly for now.
  21. I just checked the file. It seems ok. Correct dates are in there. I am currently using 3.47. So I don't know what is causing the problem.
  22. Just another observation. When you select a new plane in squadron panel, your squadron's and your stats all got reset. I first started with F4F-4 in Guadalcanal 42. After I advanced into Guadalcanal 43, I selected F4U-1a. All of a sudden, all my stats are gone and my rank got reduced to gunnery sergeant and my squadron mate's kills got zeroed out as well.
  23. I just have a little question about time passage in grand campaign. I know grand campaign is made of several mini-campaign maps. Once you graduate from one map, you move on to the next one. However, it seems that the campaign mechanism uses actual game time passage instead of historical time. For example, the battle of midway took place in June 1942 and battle of santa cruz occurred in Oct 1942. However, if you play the DCG campaign and beat Midway on 6/7/1942 then battle of santa cruz immediately starts on 6/8/1942, right after the Midway. Also, if you beat Santa cruz on 6/10/1942, the next map, Tarawa, starts immediately on 6/11/1942, which is almost 1.5yr ahead of historical start date. So if you are good enough, you can probably beat the entire pacific war before the end of 1943. Is there any way that when we start the next campaign map, we start at correct historical date rather than just simply 1 day+? I have the following options checked: 1. Fixed start date/squadrons 2. Primary objectives The only correct jump that I have found so far between 2 maps is USAAF's Hawaii campaign and New Guinea 1942. After 12/7//1941, you jump to Aug 1942, which is about right historically. USMC one seems messed up too. I just completed Guadalcanal 42 and advanced into Guadalcanal 43, but my current date is still 8/30/1942.
  24. I have 1946 but in the option menu, I only see "no instant success", not "instant success". So I should turn on "No instant success"?
