  1. I guess there is no plan to bring CUP to 4.13, right? It's been several months, I don't see any new developments.
  2. I see. I remember in old version, the grandcampaign was able to religiously observe the historical start date of each sub-campaign if the prior campaign was complete on time or ahead of the schedule.
  3. I see. But I thought the ships kept spawning as long as the objective is not met. Would there be a time that it will run out ships?
  4. I am in the process of learning to create some DCG campaigns. Here is a question that I have. 1. In a static campaign, you create each mission and put them together in one campaign. So how does DCG generate each individual random missions for a particular campaign? Is it basically you set an overall campaign goal on the map then DCG system will generate each mission trying to accomplish this goal? For example in the red island and blue island example in the DCG tutorial, if I set the overall campaign goal to be the capture of the enemy's airfield. As long as the airfield is in enemy's hand, DCG will keep generating missions toward achieving that goal. The missions could be bomber escort, ground attack or anti-shipping. Is that how DCG works?
  5. The only issue I have with suicide reset is sometimes hard to judge whether to die for a particular mission. Say I had a hard fought mission in which I achieved all my mission goals but several of my squadron mates of ace status were also gone. However you don't know whether they got KIA or captured or bailed out in friendly territory. If you really want to save them, you reset by dying then afterward at debrief you found out they parachuted into friendly territory ok. You will really regret about having died to replay the hard fought mission.
  6. A typo in my last post. For number 1, I meant to ask would my midway campaign start on 5/6/1942 or 8/5/1942.
  7. 1. But what happens if I win the first map before the start date of the 2nd map? Say Coral sea's victory condition is sink 50% of opposing CV. I did that on the 1st mission which is 7/5/1942. If I set the start date for the next map, midway on 5/6/1942, then would my midway campaign start on 6/5/1942 or 8/5/1942? 2. So in order to end a campaign, I must have an entry in endcampaign.dcg right?
  8. Some additional questions: 1. It seems a lot of endcampaign entries are missing for pacific campaign. For instance, SantaCruz, Marianas etc. So are there any hidden conditions that are not in endcampaign file? I saw some maps have capturing a specific point as victory condition. Is it determined by the entry like this: 2. Would "StartDate=03/06/1942" force the next campaign start on the date specified? For instance, I finished the coral sea map on 10/05/1942. Instead of starting midway on 11/05/1942, the battle would start on 03/06/1942?
  9. Yes. Full replacement. It's kinda weird. Every mission result seems to have 2 parts. One will be recorded as long as you quit the mission without dying, the other will only be recorded when you hit apply. The number of missions flied and number of kills on the squadron roster for each squadron member will only be updated after hitting applied. The live or death status of the squadron members also depends on "apply" button. The things that get recorded as long as you don't die are: 1. Ships sunk, 2. the kill numbers in the list of Aces. So the only way to safely erase any undesired mission result is to die before the end of the mission.
  10. I thought missions results would not get recorded unless you hit apply.
  11. Coral sea works fine now. I am testing Midway and Santa Cruz next. I know Tarawa works fine now.
  12. This is the only thing I saw in grandcampaign about Tulagi Possible to duplicate it for Red?
  13. Ok, I'll try it out next time. Btw, where do I see the links between campaigns? Is it the allcampaign.dcg or grandcampaign.dcg?
  14. Wow, Coral Sea is buggy too. I sank both Japanese carriers, but can't advance to the next map. I am pretty much stucked with flying CAP mission everyday.
  15. Btw, Paul. I finished Tarawa map which ends on 23/11/43. The next map Marianas was supposed to start on June, 44. But instead, the map start date followed immediately to Tarawa's end date. It started on 23/11/43. Is there anyway to make maps start on correct start date?
  16. Ok, what is your squadron density, Paul? I also have 5, 2 fighters, 1 torpedo, 1 dive and 1 scout/dive, but if I set density to full, I always start the mission in air. If set to dense, sometimes I start on carrier, sometimes I start in air. On the squadron lead question, I can lead a squadron at the lowest rank if playing US side (USN, USAAF and USMC). But if I play axis side (German or Japanese), I don't lead any more. It's really weird. Lastly, I think my Tulagi map is completely screwed up somehow. Nothing in endcampaign, or setting in DCG options will change a thing. It always start in air and the map won't transition to the next one.
  17. 1. How do you make yourself the leader? I don't see that option in DCG What about a carrier? I saw one carrier can launch wave after wave of aircraft from different squadrons.
  18. Yeah, it looks like that way. How could I fix that?
  19. Another interesting observation. Even though Air starts is unchecked, my flight is always airborne at the mission start.
  20. I encountered something weird. The entry for Tarawa worked as expected, but Tulagi just won't end. Also interesting is that Tarawa ends on 11/23/42, the next map Marianas starts immediately on the same date. I always thought different maps have different dates and they don't necessarily follow each other right after.
  21. Oh, I see. Were the TBD flight able to launch torpedoes successfully? Or just CTD as soon as the torps hit the water?
  22. hmm... Interesting. My endcampaign file doesn't seem to work at all. I added Tulagi end date on 5/2, but I am on 5/8 and still fighting. Let me make sure that I have done right: [Tulagi] Campaign=Pacific_Campaign EndDate=2/5/1942 Victor=Red This is all you added right? Do you know add victory condition for Blue side as well?
  23. Btw, Paul. I know HSFX 7.03 has this new feature call trigger mod. I may be able to utilize it to solve the carrier launch issue. Perhaps I can put in a trigger that says if enemy attack wave gets within a certain range of the carrier, a flight of fighters will spawn on the carrier deck for launch. Wonder if it would mess up anything in DCG.
  24. I would bet Paul is also playing a modded version of the game. Otherwise how could he fly TBD in Coral Sea? Also, I am not trying to introduce new feature into the Generator itself. This gonna be a 3rd party campaign to begin with. Some of the non-stock planes (such as TBD, TBF) will be flyable. It'll be similar to Lonestar's carrier ops campaign, only this is not for DBW. If possible I'll try to make it compatible with HSFX and CUP.
