Fhechene Posted May 29, 2019 Report Posted May 29, 2019 Hi! Sometimes, flights that airstart crash because they start too close. Could you make them start just a little farther? It's weird because most of the time they start far enough to not crash into each other, but only sometimes, they start and crash. Other thing: Today a convoy and a tank column started way inside enemy territory, far away from the front. They will get obliverated by airplanes, of course. Now, how difficult would it be to check that this doesn't happen? Thanks! You rock!- Quote
Lowengrin Posted May 30, 2019 Report Posted May 30, 2019 Are you using the latest beta when you say sometimes they start too close and crash? There was an issue with an earlier build, but I think/hope I've fixed it with the most recent beta. Truck convoys and tanks shouldn't start deep inside enemy territory. They should only start in friendly and/or contested areas and only if in friendly territory, should they advance to enemy territory (making it contested). A single vehicle may advance into enemy territory (as a scout), but never a column. Quote

And regarding trucks and convoys, in the previous mission they were far, far away from the place the appeared in that mission. Wanna see a screenshot? Quote
Lowengrin Posted May 31, 2019 Report Posted May 31, 2019 50b3. Ouch! Okay, back to the drawing board. As for the trucks, did you happen to know the start locations of the two missions? Is it just a really long road route? (Or an edit in the .rds file between missions?) Quote
Fhechene Posted June 1, 2019 Author Report Posted June 1, 2019 These are screenshots of 194502030.mis. Notice how the arrows point to chiefs (unrelated to the question: the rightmost convoy is just a supply column and a M16 thay some missions later will face on their own some German tanks, while the leftmost columns are plenty of tank columns that haven't faced any German tank). The troublesome chiefs are the downmost arrow. Those chiefs weren't near in the previous mission Edit: now that I think of it, I added a _Factory_District there. Could that have something to do with it? Quote
Lowengrin Posted June 1, 2019 Report Posted June 1, 2019 If you add a location mid-campaign it will mess up the numbering of your locations (and therefore mess up mission generation). Quote
Fhechene Posted June 1, 2019 Author Report Posted June 1, 2019 I started this campaign after adding that location Quote
Lowengrin Posted June 2, 2019 Report Posted June 2, 2019 If you used the word "Factory" in the name of the location, new units will spawn there for the side controlling the location. Could this be what happened? Quote
Fhechene Posted June 3, 2019 Author Report Posted June 3, 2019 Maybe, but the side controlling the location was Germany, and those Chiefs were Allied. Tangentially related: now that you mention it, does the word Factory only has to be in the name of the location? For example, could I name a location sdfuysfkjh_Factory_fjghsddsg and would work as a Factory the same as Factory_AaAa and BbBbB_Factory? Quote
Lowengrin Posted June 4, 2019 Report Posted June 4, 2019 Allied units should spawn in German factories so it's probably not that. _Factory can be in the middle or at the end of the name and it will work. Quote
