  1. S! All, glad to be back. Here are my latest uploads. Really really really rare combat footage from Beaufighters here. So rare I'm going to venture to say that there is a good chance most if not all of you probably haven't seen it. That plane really lays out some lead. This doc is more about combat footage and interviews/stories with the Australian pilots who fought against the Japanese when they decided to try and take Australia. Probably one of the best if not the best documentary on my channel. Absolutely amazing stories some of these pilots tell. Makes the dogfight series seem like childs play. And this doc doesn't even have CGI lol. A lot of historical facts not usually known by your average WWII buff. A MUST WATCH! Fixed Targets - Gun Camera There are some pretty serious historical inaccuracies in this 2 part series but I put it up because they basically broke down the the air combat footage that we have all seen for years. There were plenty of scenes that I've seen many a times but didn't realize that when the pilot bailed out he went one way, and with frame by frame footage you could easily tell that his parachute got ripped off. Must be a horrible way to go. Air Supremacy - Gun Camera Same as above just part 2 of the series. Another great doc from the Aussie pilots perspective. Lots of information not usually taught in western schools. A MUST WATCH! Air Battles of WWII - The War File Another time killer here. Relatively accurate, still enjoyable to watch. Most of us know pretty much everything there is needed to know about BoB. This doc just pretty much covers those details. Not really anything new. Still a good watch. Aircraft Carrier - The War File A very good watch. Some pretty rare color footage from the pacific on this one. Definitely a must watch. This is from the "Clash Of Wings" series. It aired on the "Wings" channel way back when. As a whole its a pretty good series. Not overly biased considering the time period and who it was made by. I chose to upload this particular episode from the series because it actually touches on some of the Italian aircraft, G.50, Mc-200, 202, 205, SM-79 and more. Pretty much uploaded it for the unique factor. Enjoy everyone, S!
  2. Guess who's got their head tracking device and software calibrated perfectly? Thats right, c4nucK has finally given up the hatswitch for good gentlemen. I've even gotten use to it almost completely. What a difference. Its a whole new level of immersion even if I only have 2dof. Can't wait to practice with you guys again. From this point on, expect my skill level to increase every time I play. I finally feel like I can truly fly and think three dimensionally. There is just no way to do that with a hatswitch. See you in the skies gentlemen! Regards, Tyson II./JG1_c4nucK
  3. The only thing I have to contribute to this problem.. Barton's keepin' it real! Keep thuggin' Word
  4. He and I exchanged phone numbers when he helped me with some cash for my perscription. I've spoken with him just yesterday. He's doing well, wishing he was in the sky but dealing with the withdrawals okay. The shakes and vomiting have passed. Seriously though, he is good. Looking forward to coming back, he's waiting on parts.
  5. My favorite part... WWII: Please describe your humorous encounter with a Lockheed P-38 pilot named Widen in Italy in 1944. Steinhoff: This is a good story. I was test-flying an Me-109 with my aide near our base at Foggia. This was before I had been exiled from Germany, during my first tour as Kommodore of JG.77. Well, we were attacked at low level by a flight of P-38 Lightnings, about 100 American fighters in all, but the two of us figured, why not attack? We turned into them, and I flew through their formation going in the opposite direction, getting good strikes on a couple of them. I poured a good burst into this P-38 and the pilot rolled over, and I saw him bail out. I had this on gun camera also. Well, he was picked up and made a POW, and I invited him to my tent for a drink and dinner, as well as to spend the night. We drank some of the local wine... and drank and drank. I thought to myself, "What am I going to do with this guy?" Well, it was long after midnight, so I lay down in my tent and stretched my legs so I could reach his head. He woke up and said, "Don't worry, I won't run away, you have my word as an officer and a gentleman. Besides, you got me too drunk." We slept, and he kept his word, and I never placed a guard on him. Its absolutely amazing to me to read things like that. Mind blowing. Plus hearing him say that his base was Foggia made me smile lol
  6. Interview with Johannes Steinhoff. His very last one. He died just a few months after this took place. Enjoy. http://www.tarrif.net/wwii/interviews/johannes_steinhoff.htm
  7. Another great interview (written). It was nice to read. Enjoy gentlemen. http://www.historynet.com/aviation-history-interview-with-world-war-ii-luftwaffe-ace-gunther-rall.htm
  8. You just have probably read this already as have I. But its fun to go back over again with new knowledge. Such as me finally understanding Walter "Graf Punski" Krupinski. This interview talks about their first meeting and the meeting of many other aces. Enjoy gentlemen. Excuse the minor spelling issues. I have no idea why the person who wrote this didn't check his spelling better but its good none the less. Erich Hartmann Interview http://www.hotlinecy.com/hartmann.htm
  9. Uploaded some more docs last night. Enjoy gentlemen, please rate and subscribe. Fighter Bombers - Weapons of WWII https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThsmpT1dD6o B-17 Flying Fortress - Warbirds of WWII P-47 Thunderbolt - Warbirds of WWII Tempest At War Bf-110 Destroyer - Wings of the Luftwaffe Enjoy them with your morning coffee or at your leisure. I did not upload this, I found this earlier this morning. Its a great tactical "how to dogfight" video from the early 90's. Its about jet aircraft but 90% of what they are teaching is perfectly application to prop planes. This one is pretty rare. Art of the Kill
  10. Ah okay, now it makes since Britch, thanks for clarifying. If you have a spare stick and a few extra bucks to ship it I would be eternally grateful, if not there is no love lost brother. Most weeks I'm honestly struggling just to eat. My fiance and I recently gained custody of her 11 year old niece (not really sure for how long, could be short term, could be until she's 18) which makes my financial situation even worse. But I love the both of them regardless so were doing what we have to do. Eating less, saving cans, one meal a day (at least for me) etc etc. So even spending $25 at this time is so far out of the question its not even funny. Things will eventually get better, this I know. Just a matter of a time. Hell, even this PC i'm using was built by me going dumpster diving behind a PC store lol. I got very lucky with what I found. Also there are plenty of construction sites within walking distance of where I live so I can easily go there and get building materials from the trash (wood, pvc, steel piping, etc.)
  11. First time I saw that interview I almost cried. I couldn't imagine the emotions the both of them had regarding the subject. Simply amazing. If anyone hasn't seen what were talking about here it is.. Bf 109 pilot Franz Stigler and B-17 pilot Charlie Brown's first meeting
  12. Good shit Schulte!! I didn't think of that either. Man my mind is going nuts. Anyone have any spare crappy old twist sticks that are collecting dust?? What are you using for the cable line there? I see how it would work for your right pedal but I'm not understanding how it would for the left. Is that cable line a solid piece of material or flimsy like steel wire or something? My previous stick was a 12 year old Sidewinder 2 that just wasn't cutting it anymore because of all the slop in the middle. I threw it away like an idiot thinking there is no way it would be good for anything. I sincerely regret it now! P.S. I love that flavor swishers too lmao. I use to use em for "herbal" substances way back when hehe
  13. Yeah man! Its utterly insane how much thought and time went into this. The guy either has an awesomely understanding and supportive wife or he's a complete virgin. One or the other. There is no grey area with that one lol. I mean just look at all that. The man even made a completely homemade Revi gunsight thats completely functional! And your right, the stick was pretty awesome too. Completely took apart his old stick and custom fit the board and wiring the was inside to his newly designed 109 stick. Man how I can't wait to get some good money my way. I'm gonna go nuts!
  14. They really are great. Easily in the top 5 best Air war documentaries. Interviews with so many combat pilots. Somewhat biased towards the American side to be honest. Whenever they interview any pilot that isn't allied its more of an interview about how the Allied were better. Which is a shame. I 109 documentaries that I'm going to be uploading soon that has interviews with Erich Hartmann himself =] Pretty rare stuff. The rarest one I have that I can say I don't know anyone else that has seen it is the following.. Gunther Rall and Chuck Yeager were sitting side by side and the subject they were on was American planes vs German. The numerical, technical, and tactical side of it. Rall started to recall a particular mission where he kept going after a particular mustang that got separated from the rest of his flight, the fight between them was pretty intense. After about 20 seconds of him speaking about it Yeager had this look on his face like he'd seen a ghost or something. Yeager eventually interrupted Rall to ask him if he could remember roughly the date of this mission. Rall replied with the date and Yeager was blown away. He goes "That was me you were after!", then Rall in amazement was equally blown away and they both went on and broke down the engagement together as if the interview wasn't even taking place. Like they were in a bar having a beer recapping some old football game footage or something. Its really amazing stuff!
  15. Just wanted to share one last thing. You guys may have seen this, you may not have. This is a G6 home sim-pit that some guy built. It's really well done. The only thing missing would be actuators if the cockpit was to actually move around. The amount of detail the guy put into this is pretty ridiculous. Lots of home made genius here. WARNING: Be prepared to change your underwear/boxers.. The more you scroll down the more your mouth will salivate. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3534109.html I plan on building either a 109 or 190 cockpit once I get another decent welding job again. Its pretty much my "anti-drug" lol. Videos of the same cockpit.. Enjoy guys.
  16. This is what I was speaking about to a few of the members last night on Ghost Skies. Check this thread out I posted on m4t. Its my Thrustmaster Hotas X (Which was donated to me brand new btw from a good friend). Moded with a PS1 Analogue stick over the hatswitch. Also used in conjunction with two programs. 1.) Joy2key, which allows my hatswitch to act as a mouse emulator instead of the predetermined 30 degree increments that you get when using stock hatswitch views. 2.) ControlMK, which allows me to assign multiple tasks to one button. (I.E. Left on hatswitch produce the left incriment view PLUS I assigned pressing left to my "h" key, which in IL-2 I programed it to "lean left") Anytime I'm NOT in gunsight view and I click left on my hatswitch, my pilot also leans his body to the left using the newer 6dof keyboard commands that came w/ 4.11.1. Whenever I click right my pilot leans to the right as well as looking to the right all in one movement with one button. Its great for looking at my 6 o'clock area when I got an opponent on my tail. It allows me to see around the head rest without having to press another key to lean my pilots body over. Less work load on me + less thinking = more attention on opponent) I didn't look any of this stuff up, as far as I know this is a one of a kind setup that I made here =] Born out of pure desperation to stop getting my ass kicked from you TIR boys So as you obviously know, anytime I press my brake button its also my talk button. Well that very same button is also my "lean up" button. Condensing down my controls to be able to have the ones I use the most all on my stick is key for me. Anyway, just wanted to share my little invention. Here it is w/ pics.. http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=ForumsPro&file=viewtopic&p=131978#131978 Here is my next project. I'm going to go to the flea market (aka "The Dirt Mall) and try to pick up some old twist stick usb joystick to build my own custom rudder pedals. The idea came from this thread... http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/1737320/1 Its surprisingly simple. I even expanded on the idea and figured out a way to make toe brakes using the throttle on the side. I'm just going to find a spring big enough from Lowes/Home Depot, mount it in a way to where it sits in front of the throttle slider, then build a platform so that whenever I push on the brakes, it will push the throttle forward so my breaking will be just like a car. The harder you brake, the more you'll get. Will post pics when I'm done =] I may be broke, but I got a little bit of smarts to compensate hehe
  17. I uploaded the rest of the "Hunters In The Sky" series last night. Enjoy with your morning coffee or however you do it. I've gotten an excellent response from people showing their thanks and appreciation! I'm glad everyone else is enjoying these! It would of been extremely selfish of me to keep these to myself! =] Please rate and subscribe! Hell In The pacific - Hunters in the Sky Under All Flags - Hunters in the Sky Big Friend, Little Friend - Hunters in the Sky Closing The ring - Hunters in the Sky Fall Of The Third Reich - Hunters in the Sky Victory In The Pacific - Hunters in the Sky Reflections On War - Hunters in the Sky Enjoy everyone! Feel free to send me your old head tracking devices I'm probably only an eighth of the way through of what I have. Much much much more to come! I take requests by the way. If there is a particular subject you'd like to hear about just ask me. Chances are I more than likely have something on it and I'll put it up =]
  18. S! Klaiber, It was indeed a pleasure to fly with you sir. I appreciate your patience! I'm adjusting to the loss of fps that was to be expected with maps as big as what were working with, which makes it hard to spot and identify targets. Its even harder to keep track of wingmen when they are just above the landscape but I will get better every time I play. I believe my screen kept turning black because my cpu and or video card was getting overloaded with everything that was on the current map. Considering that it didn't happen again with the changes I made on that second sortie I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed that I'm okay now finally! That footage of the tankbuster video is great. It has some rare stuff. Did you see the footage of Rudel in the hospital bed shortly after the amputation of his leg speaking with his surgeon? Awesome awesome stuff. Whoa! I just saw that mistake regarding the Hs-123 that you mentioned. These docs are normally spot on! Good eye! Or ears rather. I plan on showing up tonight for GS as long as I can time my tylonel/advil intake to be active during the flight. I've slept maybe 8 hours in the past 4-5 days because of this pain. I'm going to have to play it by ear unfortunately. I will do my best though! One last thing, is JG1 recruiting? If so, what are the requirements? Its been an absolute pleasure flying with the group and I'd let to take the next step if thats okay for me to mention without over stepping my boundaries. Regards, Tyson c4nucK
  19. S! JG1, Its been a pleasure flying with you guys. I'm slowly getting better and more comfortable with your style of flying so thank you for bearing with me through this transitional period. After the first two games I honestly wouldn't of been surprised if you guys would of sent me to a different flight channel lol. And I wouldn't blame you!! =] Anyway, I've posted this on a couple other sites but I wanted to include it here as well incase you don't visit the same sites I do. I recently recieved access to a close friend of mines ftp server that has over 55 terabytes of rare documentaries on WW2/Vietnam/Korea/WWI. I've been slowly uploading them to my YT account. If you guys are any sort of history buff like me feel free to subscribe and check my channel out. I'm a big fan of German technology of the Era so a lot of the ones I'm posting for now are about Germany. However all sides will be posted in time. Enjoy gentlemen! And again, thank you for your patience! https://www.youtube.com/user/c4nucksens8tion Regards, Tyson c4nucK
