Right now we are running a Coral Sea DCG. Question I have is about damage to ships. For instance in the first mission we hit one of the Japanese carriers with one bomb (1000 lbs). Is the damage cumulative? What I am getting at here is when we come back to hit it again will the damage model reflect the one hit or are we starting over in each successive mission that it is not actually sunk in?
Also a question about torpedoes. It appears that the event log does not show torpedoes that have been dropped? Is there a setting or something that I am missing or is this inherent to DCG?
Is it possible to have multiple installs of DCG on separate drives? I have two installs of IL2 for different versions and would like to have two different and separate campaigns running on the different versions.
I am trying to get the TBD1 into the Pacific 42 campaign. I have added it to the Master Mission, planesUNX, and squadron DCG but it will just NOT show up and will not take if I directly add it to the squadrons.dcg file. What am I missing here?
Hmmm.... OK so to get it tweaked we need to run missions... so if I save it at that point will it roll back to the beginning or will it go back to Mission 7 (which is the current one that we have all tweaks completed)?
OK so in the course of setting up a campaign we have been tweaking and testing and are now happy with it. In the course of doing this we have ran several missions. Is there a way to reset the campaign to mission one without having to recreate it anew including making all of the changes? In other words we would like to take the current campaign as is and reset it back to day one mission one?
The other way this comes into play is that we have sides setup to play Red and Blue and now we want to re-run it and swap sides.
Well I had a couple of things that were going on. Now that they are fixed the fuse issue has also gone away. Thanks for your assistance!!
Has anyone made a Solomons Campaign?
Thanks guys I really appreciate your help. I am reading through Tailspins guide as well.
Any ideas on the fuse delay question as to why it defaults to 11 sec and won't let us select a shorter time?
Thanks Sniperton!!
Actually I read how to do the timetable. Question though... do I have to set a timetable value for every mission or just the initial one?
Another question- when I go into the columns file i try to change one of the carriers to a different type. When I save ot and then reopen the file it goes back the original boat. In this case I am trying to change the Generic US carrier to the Intrepid.
Is it possible to edit the formation that Carriers take? DCG is placing them very close together and we would like to spread the out to a more realistic distance.
Can/how do you edit the default ships speed?
Bomb fusing- when you select the low level fuse the shortest delay that can be set is 11 seconds. Typically we use a 4 second delay. Can this be edited somewhere?
Some of the missions will require us to open them in FMB and save them before it will load. Otherwise it shows the mission loading but then never does nor will it transfer to the other players.
Our group is new to using DCG but from what we have seen so far (been playing around with it for a week now) this is an outstanding program. Our squad has been around a long time and had been using SEOW but now that we are finding no one to fly against we are trying to get a good campaign to use against AI opposition.
Currently running a manual coop DCG using IL2 v 4.11.1 and HSFX 6.01. Thanks guys and we look forward to getting the most out of DCG!!
