walter_solito Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 Hi Lowengrin , apologize to bother! I have created all the necessary files for the WWI nations to be used in game and for the most important also the files for their use in dynamic campaigns: Quote Photos (All harmonized between them) Names (Historically added all available aces names and surenames for every air service) City (Historical and in % balanced by number of habitants) Ranks Medals Icons Backgrounds Squadrons (All historical named as I have managed to research) The new air service created are: (in bold the major services that have all the files for dynamic campaigns) Quote Australian Flying Corps Belgian Air Service Aéronautique Militaire Royal Flying Corps Ellinikì Aeroporìa Corpo Aeronautico Militare I.J.N. Air Service I.J.A. Air Corps Imperial Russian Air Service Royal Air Force Imperial Russian Fleet Air Service Royal Naval Air Service Corpul de Aviate Srpska Avijatika A.E.F. Air Service K.u.K. Luftfahrtruppen Bulgarski Aviatsionen Korpus Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte Kaiserliche Marine-Fliegerabteilung Osmanli Tayyare Bölükleri I was looking at the [branch] section of the regiment.ini file.... Here the nations are united by their service.... US UN (US navy belong to USA) US UM (US Marines belong to USA) and so on.... If I set for example the Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte code related to default stock game Germany (DE) the DCG recognize it as German like nation and allow to use it as player campaign country or the new nations codes have to be added into the DCG program engine? In the latter istance , if I send you all the files I've created are you interested to add them into DCG engine? Thanks in advance for your reply! Quote
Lowengrin Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 As long as you use the stock nation codes from the game, for example, "DE" for Germany and "RU" for Russia, your WW1 "mod" should work in DCG. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to add any new codes into DCG - I hard coded them from the very beginning (adding new ones with each new release of the game). So you'll have to use ones like Finland and Slovenia (and other nations not involved in WW2) for some of the others. Quote
walter_solito Posted October 27 Author Report Posted October 27 Hi Lowengrin! Thanks for your reply! I was thinking that the [branch] section 'll not be the solution.... About the naming of the new units I can't use the same code as Germany . nor any of the other , because they interfere with the pilots portraits , names and city....also the awards and ranks in WW1 are so different that a separate nation is required.... Can you consider the possibility to add them among the other hardcoded nations? Quote
Lowengrin Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 Sorry, but adding new nationalities is something I'm not interested in doing at this time. It'd be time consuming and mod dependent. And I said long ago that I wouldn't go down the rabbit hole of trying to support every mod for IL-2. (If I were to do it, I'd get rid of hard coding nationalities altogether. But that's an even bigger job and I don't have the time to even consider what that would require right now.) In the meantime, I'm pretty sure you could swap files in for most (all?) of these data directly into the IL-2 folders. For DCG, just the messages.dcg has an army/nationality section that would need updating. Quote
walter_solito Posted October 30 Author Report Posted October 30 Thanks Lowengrin for your reply! I was only asking! I'll try to do something to solve the problem! I'll bother again for campaigns in the future! Lowengrin 1 Quote
