Britchot Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 I'm glad the plane survived. That's unfortunate to have debris clutter your landing zone at any time, much worse for the only surviving flier. If I ever win the lottery I'm going after a Grumman Widgeon with retractable floats and a house on a lake. Quote
Klaiber Posted September 10, 2015 Author Report Posted September 10, 2015 The Grumman Widgeon is a great looking aircraft. Can definitely see why you'd want one. Quote
Britchot Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 I'm not going to lie, my son's fascination with Disney's Planes: Fire & Rescue renewed my desire to fly float planes. The character of Dipper made me narrow down on what I would consider a personal (and nearly affordable) PBY Catalina, the Widgeon: It's the toy I grab when we're playing Quote
Britchot Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 Fantasy Island's plane was a Widgeon and it is currently for sale. Quote
Klaiber Posted September 10, 2015 Author Report Posted September 10, 2015 Oh yeah, you're right! I never realized that the aircraft from the opening credits was a Widgeon. Quote
Klaiber Posted September 10, 2015 Author Report Posted September 10, 2015 Btw, if you're interested in float planes, have you ever given the Felixstowe and Brandenburg a spin in RoF? http://riseofflight.com/store/aircraft/felixstowe-f2a/ http://riseofflight.com/store/aircraft/brandenburg-w12/ Quote
Britchot Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 I own them both but have only flown the Brandenburg online for recon missions. I love the water effects on the pilot. In the air it's great until someone sees me, there is no running away in that plane. Quote
J5_Hotlead Posted September 11, 2015 Report Posted September 11, 2015 Give 'em what fer with the tail turret! But if the rear gunner gets knocked out of commission...yeah, you're toast. BTW, have you tried the Hanriot HD.2? It's a floatplane version of the HD.1 fighter. http://riseofflight.com/store/aircraft/hanriot-hd1/ Quote
Britchot Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 I have the Hanriot but as rarely as I'm able to fly RoF, it's normally in a German aircraft. Quote
