I'm glad the plane survived.  That's unfortunate to have debris clutter your landing zone at any time, much worse for the only surviving flier.  

 

If I ever win the lottery I'm going after a Grumman Widgeon with retractable floats and a house on a lake.

The Grumman Widgeon is a great looking aircraft.  Can definitely see why you'd want one.

I'm not going to lie, my son's fascination with Disney's Planes: Fire & Rescue renewed my desire to fly float planes.  The character of Dipper made me narrow down on what I would consider a personal (and nearly affordable) PBY Catalina, the Widgeon:

Fantasy Island's plane was a Widgeon and it is currently for sale.

Oh yeah, you're right!  I never realized that the aircraft from the opening credits was a Widgeon.

I own them both but have only flown the Brandenburg online for recon missions.  I love the water effects on the pilot.  In the air it's great until someone sees me, there is no running away in that plane.

BTW, have you tried the Hanriot HD.2? It's a floatplane version of the HD.1 fighter.

I have the Hanriot but as rarely as I'm able to fly RoF, it's normally in a German aircraft.
