Ha. no I wasnt waiting. Im still puttering around getting back into the swing of things. I wish I and written down all the stuff you and I exchanged back and forth as now I forget that stuff!!! lol. Like what the ~X ~C and ~A means on the columns file. I spent 20 minutes yesterday trying to figure out why I was getting a location check fail error, then realized it was cause I had a space between the allied and axis coordinates in the PRD file. Slowing geting back up to speed. I already did a full armor.dcg file for HSFX 7.03. I wasnt sure if I only needed one entry for the max #. So Ive got entries for every item 1-xxx, 2-xxx, 3-xxx, 4-xxx, 5-xxx, 12-xxx. etc Im guessing its not hard coded as when Ive generated campaigns with 5 armor units, DCG handles them just fine apparently. Havn't play tested them but they generated and the 5-xxx armor units are showing in the columns.dcg file. RGR on the squadron/Company Items. I figured that would be the case. thanks Lo

Ok, well at least I know Im not losing my mind Ive had a dozen instances or so of this if the plane is NOT in the SquadID file. They do NOT turn blue. They exhibit the exact same behavior as above. But as soon as I add the squadron to the Squad ID file, then everything is fine. Ive done a check with each of my old campaigns when I render them, to go in and make sure all the allied flights are taking off from allied territory My campaigns are from 4.09 and HSFX 4.1. And some of the squadrons I selected back then are not in the squadID file. so if I saw a red flight taking off from axis territory, Id just go in and add the squadron to the squadID file. This was, so far, the only time it DIDNT fix it.

Here, I regenerated it so you can have a look yourself. tried to upload here but wouldn't let me attach "those" types of files. you can download the rar here. https://ws.onehub.com/files/xa8tucc2 I included the master mission file and the generated one. along with some of the campaign files and the dcg error file. you'll notice it says the player squadron is tentatively based in balbao airfield (axis territory) the P47s are the first squadron in the mission file. Also, when you give that squadron a different squadron ID, like usa01 (USAAF), in the error file it will show the player squadron tentatively based, correctly, at an allied airfield.

sniperton yes that is all correct. proper markings and all. in the plane selection screen, it showed up with RED numerals 1 /2/3/4 for the planes with a US insignia next to the numbers. then listing the squadron number. Selecting one of those aircraft would then show the waypoints starting at an axis airfield then going to a target in allied territory. Looking at the mission in the FMB confirmed this. And it also maintained the red status in FMB. The waypoints were red... takeoff waypoint at an axis airfield.. then going to cap or attack a target in allied territory. but in the briefing it does not mention that squadron. If you then click on an axis aircraft and look at the axis briefing, it mentions the US flight capping an allied area or escorting a german flight. yes this is a DCG generated multiplayer campaign with only red and blue. like I said I added the squadron ID just like i mentioned above. when I changed it back from that squadron to the USAAF squadron (and that is the ONLY thing I changed) it then placed the flight correctly at an allied airfield.

Ok, so idefix44 reminded me of deal with some squadrons issue and I read about having to add them in the squadID file but... do you guys know of any squadrons that are not working period? I tried adding a flight of P47Ds to a new campaign. assigned them to the 54th FG 57th Squadron. Then when generating mission, they kept showing up RED (red in the mission file, red in the plane selection screen), but they are referenced in the axis briefing and take off from axis territory attacking allied targets. I had added the squadron ID to the squadID file.. USA_FG_054_FS_057z 57th Fighter Squadron even added it with an extra 0 at the end just for petes sake after the first try failed. tried it again without it in the squad ID file. all the same result. placement section from squadID file below.. had to assign the squadron over the USAAF squadron to get it to work right. are there certain things I need to look out for or something Im still missing with the squadrons? ----- 's added just to highlight location AVG_FS_3z American Volunteer Group 3rd Squadron USA_FG_080_FS_459z 459th Fighter Squadron USA_FG_035_FS_039z 39th Fighter Squadron USA_FG_049_FS_009z 9th Fighter Squadron ------- USA_FG_054_FS_057z 57th Fighter Squadron USA_FG_054_FS_057z0 57th Fighter Squadron ------ USA_RS_017z 17th Reconaissance Squadron USA_RS_082z 82nd Reconaissance Squadron USA_RS_110z 110th Reconaissance Squadron USA_RS_022z 22nd Reconaissance Squadron USA_FG_008_FS_030z 30th Fighter Squadron USA_FG_008_FS_035z 35th Fighter Squadron

some planes (HSFX) not being seen in class file?
Widowmaker214 replied to Widowmaker214's topic in DCG Bug Reports
you know, I have NOO idea. None of that stuff even looks remotely familiar to anything. not just that but there was six lines of it. like I said. no clue where it came from but that was causing the integer error. as for the others. Yes,THANK YOU. it was the skins folders. Missing folders and my using _ over - or spelling issue in the skin folder name column. I actually forgot that was the column for the skin folder name. I shall leave this up for a while to properly shame myself before deleting the thread lol. Now I have about 60 campaigns to update for the dynamic campaign server!!! -
some planes (HSFX) not being seen in class file?
Widowmaker214 replied to Widowmaker214's topic in DCG Bug Reports
thanks sniperton... I remembered the TAB issue lol!!!!! but forgot about the skin folders one. I will check on that. btw.. here is the trash I found at the bottom of the class.dcg file. I had a copy of the file so I was able to go back and look at it... Im still trying to figure how it got in there!!! yeah please dont kill me. I know Ive been out of the loop for a while. sorting things so Ive got a couple campaigns doing just fine with DCG 3.48 / IL2 4.12.2 / HSFX 7.03 Solved the 'e l' integer error. Somehow some trash got added to the end of the class.dcg file. like 5 lines of it. under neath the country ID to years area.. like e l i 1 0 something like that so when DCG would try to make a substitute and not find the aircraft it would throw that error. but still getitng the issue of the planes. I will post a list at the bottom of this message as to the aircraft. Its of course HSFX aircraft, but not all of them. SOME work. The class listings are just fine in DCG, each aircraft was put in a mission, I use the air. name and filled out the class file. The DCG error, is it saying its not finding it in the DCG class file? or is it meaning the aircraft was not found in the GAME class file? Has anyone else run into this when using DCG with HSFX ? I didnt have such an issue with HSFX 4 class file entry example: one mission has a Fairy Fulmar in it. I got the integer issue. Looked at the DCG error file. said the "FairyFulmar assigned to XX squadron is not present in the class file..." but here is my Class file entry for it : Fulmar1 FairyFulmar gb 1 2 1 193901 194612 none FaireyFulmar none 4000 Meters 280.00 kph Default 280.00 kph so I dropped in a Fiat BR 20. got the same integer error. "BR_20 assigned to xx squadron is not present in the class file..." here is my class fore entry for it : FiatBr20 FiatBR20 it 2 2 1 193206 194608 none BR-20 none 3000 Meters 330.00 kph Default 330.00 kph these are the aircraft Ive found a problem with so far. I can access them just fine in the FMB and used that to pull out the air. name Potez-540 Potez-542 LetovS_328 P-23B MB-152 Bloch BattleMkII Leo_45 B-29sp Silverplate F4F3s P61A Late P61A Early hurribomber HurricaneMkIIb Bomb BEAUMKI BeaufighterMkI P-23B PZL23B P_24F P24F P_24G P24G PZL42 P-42 AT6 AT-6 A6M3a_22ko Avia_B_71 Avia B71 Wellington3 Wellington III CantZ506B G-55-SS0 G-55-SS-Late J1N1-S J1N1-Sa Ju-388-K He-177-A3 LetovS_328 LetovS_328N FiatBR20 FairyFulmar

thanks idefix because I hate things that dont work.. Ive spent the last 12 some hours on this lol I did get it sorted.. my two test campaigns all generated nicely. first thing I did. 1. when in doubt and cant figure it out.. reinstall EVERYTHING. Full re install of IL2.. patch. hsfx. full reinstall of DCG 4.37 and the latest 4.38 beta thennn I brought my files back in. I was able to start generating but still had squadrons in weird places (! remember to update your timetable file ) that did help with the squadrons. I read that, but I didnt know my planes went from blue to red just from a change in the actual game lol. not until I opened the master mission file in the IL2 4.12.2 did I see it. then I used new squadrons. and I went in and manually added them to the squadid file to make sure. that fixed it all. btw if anyone wants the class/allpayloads/armor/gunits files for HSFX 7.03 I can make those available. Im sure they aren't perfect but they are pretty close. I did armor and gunits files one item at a time so they are all in there. (save for two tank companies I had to drop cause their names were to long) The next rainy day at the lake I might do all the new squadron IDs.

Ive tried to read up on as much of this as I could. I got weird results when trying it. I have all of my campaigns.. tons of them.. from IL2 4.09 and HSFX 4.1... using DCG 3.44 on a COOP DSC server. Ive finally gotten around to updating a test install to 4.12.2 and hsfx 7 Im rusty of course..but Ive done nearly 100 NGen DCG campaigns. So I wanted to update them for use in HSFX 7 I went through all the new aircraft / payloads... ground units. added them to the Gunits , class, allpayloads file. removed what aircraft were removed in the newer versions. so my first attempt was an italy campaign... some of the squadrons that worked in the older versions... didnt this time : 24gruppo00 22gruppo10 1stormo00 those got treated as allied squadrons and aircraft were placed on the wrong side of the front. it wouldnt let you fly the mission but I could go in and look at it. but I noticed there was some problems with squadron ID's in the forum so I decided to just do a very simple mission. I took all the aircraft out and just left one allied flight and one axis flight. made it a generic german squadron so there would be no issues. got nothing but "front has been lost" errors tried another one of my campaigns, a very simple africa 41 on the sands of time map. same thing. front has been lost log file looks something like this : [2015/05/04 19:03:02.740] Parameter String0 = E:\IL2 HSFX 7 Game testing\IL2_4_12_2_HSFX_7\NGen.exe [2015/05/04 19:03:02.741] Parameter String1 = missions/net/ngen/dcg_aallied_x7_med_africa411/conf.dat [2015/05/04 19:03:02.741] DCG.ini processed. [2015/05/04 19:03:03.192] The Front has been lost. I can go to my 4.09/hsfx 4/dcg 3.44 and generate these just fine. Im a bit stumped im assuming something has changed that, in my attempt to read back and see.. that Ive missed something? ... adding.. It does the same thing when I disable HSFX and run it as a stock 4.12.2

Alright. well I sorta got it working. It doesnt do what duruk was saying, but I get a "the front was lost" error on all my campaigns. these were working with 4.09 / DCG 3.44 i'll make another thread

Im having a very similar problem to this. And doing Sniperton's suggestion didnt help. Its been a while since I ran my own campaigns, but got back into it to update DCG and the game to the lastest versions... (I have like 50-100 campaigns done up for DCG 3.46 / HSFX 4.1) so I spent several days adding all the units from IL2 4.12.2 / HSFX 5-7 into the proper DCG files. was going to update all my campaigns... I was messing around on my laptop (I have cloned installs on a few computers)... and I was getting errors with DCG not recognizing new squadrons and making italian planes red with red squadrons and then that causes teh whole campaign to crash. then it just didnt work at all. I get access violation errors from DCG when pointing to the IL2fb.exe the allpaints.dcg file grows from 20kb to 56kb and that generally causes the access viloation error. Now all I get is problem duruk had, on all of my machines... I only use NGen mind you for online coops If I try and run one of my campaigns.. it does the above or says the front has been lost. If I try a regular DCG campaign it does the above. I tried going back to stock 4.12.2 tried DCG version 3.47 tried the , out of the box DCG 3.48.16 and 3.47 without any of my own campaign stuff. still the same thing. when I click on New... IL2 losses focus as I have my mouse on the desk top. when I click back on Il2 you just have to click back. in the ,missions/net/NGen campaign folder all there is , is a conf.dat file and yes, each time I changed IL2 or DCG I did the uncheck/recheck thing Im confuuuuusssedddd

Well Ive been trying and trying and trying to like the new IL2 BOS. Its great eye candy. not much else so far.. Ive dusted off the Rnzoli DCS server box and got my DCG campaigns going again.. then decided to see about updating everything from the current 4.09/HSFX 4 install to the new 4.12.2/HSFX 7.03 Of course IM sitting here adding ships/armor/planes to mission files and pulling them out to add into all the DCG files.. So I got a question for ya Lo.. with some of the new suqadron and company items... How will DCG handle those in campaign? for instance.. here is my armor entries for the cruiser MKIII tank... armor.dcg 1-Crusader_III 1 194209 194401 none 02/03 2-Crusader_III 1 194209 194401 none 02/03 3-Crusader_III 1 194209 194401 none 02/03 4-Crusader_III 1 194209 194401 none 02/03 5-Crusader_III 1 194209 194401 none 02/03 Crusader_III_Sqn 1 194209 194401 none 02/03 gunits.dcg Armor.1-CruiserMKIII 1 Armor.2-CruiserMKIII 1 Armor.3-CruiserMKIII 1 Armor.4-CruiserMKIII 1 Armor.5-CruiserMKIII 1 Armor.CruiserMKIII_Sqn 1 Now Ive always assumed of course, DCG knew how many units there are in group due to the first integer found in the line. with the new Sqn and Cpy formations, there is no longer an integer. if one gets destroyed, well it reduces that number in the next mission. Is this going to throw a monkey in the machine if you add one of these units to the campaign? IE.. it either cant be destroyed, or destroying one tank in the group takes out the entire unit? and as a side note... considering the new armor.2 armor.3 armor.5 entries in the game. Can I assume Im not wasting my time by adding them to the armor/gunits files. I figured if I selected an armor.3 group for the campaign, and if I didn't have it in those files, it would scrub it out. -Widowmaker
