3. Thank you very much for the update! S!
4. Thanks idefix! I placed your de_names.dat in IL2DCG\Data\ and that worked well . The umlaut letters are displayed correctly in both briefing and debriefing screens. But the beta 13 doesn't seem to handle several underscores as in this example from your de_names.dat: Heinrich Prinz_zu_Sayn_Wittgenstein
5. Thanks idefix I tried your file and placed it in the IL2DCG\Data\dgen folder, and started a new DCG campaign but I still get names from the exe and not from the de_names.dat file Have I placed the file in the correct place? If I've placed the file in the correct place and I'm using the beta 13 I can't figure out why it's not working in my end, any ideas please? As I wrote earlier I only replaced the exe file since I couldn't detect any other upgraded files in the zip-file. Best regards vonOben
6. I've updated from beta 12 only replaced the il2dcg.exe with the one from beta 13. Then I created a de_names.dat with 53 names just for test purposes and I placed it in the IL2DCG\Data\dgen folder since all other dat files are there. Is that how it's intended? I started a new DCG campaign but the names in pilot.dcg are not from the de_names.dat. If there is a de_names.dat then only names from there should be used? How is the de_names.dat supposed make the German letters display correctly? What I tried was to use the IL-2 codes for those special letters: ä ä ü ü ö ö å å I also made another de_names.dat with ordinary umlaut letters, but it was not read either. My test files is attached. de_names.zip de_names.zip
7. Thanks, but the [Mods] section is only needed to change the default variables: Quote from the C & C Readme file: [Mods] section at the end of the file. You may have to add this every time you make a change to the mission file, as the game may delete it each time you re-save. None of the objects require these variables to be present in a mission to work, they will simply use default values. So my question was related to how IL-2 DCG handles the Command & Control entries when creating the mis-files for the missions and from experience which features works with DCG.
8. Yes it was, sorry for not paying attention
9. Many thanks for the new beta Is it now possible to have a [Mods] Section in the mis-files as discussed here: http://forum.jg1.org/topic/4862-mods-section-in-mis-file/?do=findComment&comment=31108
10. Many thanks for the new beta I'll test it ASAP
11. Are there any C&C Mod features that you can use in DCG at this point? I did a search over at SAS 1946 and I got the impression that some C&C feautures could be implemented...but I might have misunderstood....
12. Yes, I opened the DCG.exe with an hex editor and found the names there.
13. Is this a 3.49 beta12 problem then? Where does DCG get the pilot names from?
14. Hi I have a problem with some German letters (ä,ü etc) are not displayed correctly in the debriefing when playing a DCG campaign using 3.49 beta12. Text from debriefing.txt: Debrief: Mission results: Hauptmann Matthäus Grünau was shot down. Oberfeldwebel von Oben shot down a Nieuport 17 to score his 2nd victory. Oberfeldwebel von Oben shot down a Nieuport 17 to score his 3rd victory. Oberleutnant Albrecht Steinhauser was shot down. Oberfeldwebel Rainer Müller shot down a Nieuport 17 to score his 1st victory. Oberfeldwebel Rainer Müller bailed out. Oberfeldwebel Rainer Müller was shot down. Oberfeldwebel Rainer Müller, having bailed out, hitched a ride back to the airfield. Is that possible to fix? Best regards vonOben
