January 23, 20233 yr comment_81505 All, Just a quick heads up regarding the legacy Rise of Flight forums: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/82590-rise-of-flight-forum-closure-and-move/ Quote Some of you may have already noticed the Rise of Flight forum tab at the bottom of the main page and the title change to the FC Sub-Forum. This change is due to the old, legacy ROF forum being turned down and the remaining members being offered a place here with us. There were a number of reasons for this move, not the least of which were more people converting to FC and a major problem with SPAM attacks due to long dormant logins and emails being compromised. The decision to rehome ROF puts everything under one roof and makes it easier to manage from an IT, security and admin perspective. @TG-55Panthercules will be maintaining his role as moderator for the ROF section. This is a work in progress, and some tweaks may occur as things progress. The ROF pilots are gaining a new home here with us, so keep that in mind when you begin seeing some new/old faces here in the WWI sub. I'll expect everyone to be a good host and behave accordingly. 🙂 Wardog Report

Panthercules is moving a lot of stuff over as he has time, but I don’t think he can possibly get it all. If you have any important posts, might not be a bad idea to either ask him to move them or just repost them in that section. Report

I felt the same way when they shut down the Ubisoft forums. Not just because of the 1C/Maddox forums but other old games forums like Silent Hunter and the Customer support area that still had useful information regarding the Panzer General series of games. All those years of content gone into nothingness. Plus all those useless links on the other sites pointing to those articles are going to nowhere now too. Even more disturbing is that for the most part the Internet Archive did not preserve most of the content so it is not a useful resource for that information either. ☹️ Wheels Report
