wheelsup_cavu Posted May 1, 2023 Report Posted May 1, 2023 Something from quite some time ago @Klaiber https://web.archive.org/web/20080309074727/http://simjunkie.com/forum/index.php https://web.archive.org/web/20080914071303/http://cot.simjunkie.com/# Wheels Klaiber and Snaggle 1 1 Quote
Klaiber Posted May 1, 2023 Report Posted May 1, 2023 That definitely brings back a lot of memories! Thanks @wheelsup_cavu. What made you think of that? Quote

Looking for the Internet Archive links I posted for Lowengrins former website in this post reminded me that I needed to look at the Links section at M4T again. Since so many of the old IL-2 websites have went by the wayside in the last 5 years I am regularly updating the Links area to have the links go to an Internet Archive save so that there is something available for anyone new to the game to check out. The saves of the websites at the Internet Archive are almost always shells of their former selves but it is better than nothing. By a fortuitous stroke of luck I decided to check the Sim Junkie Internet Archive link posted at M4T to make certain it still worked and I came across a link to the Sim Junkie former forums which is when I saw your username as one of the moderators and the Clash of Titans links. Wheels Yeah, Clash of Titans was one of the dead-is-dead events that JG1 was coordinating in the early 2000s. Starting around 2003 I think. This specific forum was attached to the third version of the event - Clash of Titans III (COT III). If anyone is curious, there is a lot of information on the many versions of Clash of Titans we ran within our squadron history: https://jg1.org/oesau/history/ Obviously, COT was always a group effort with many hands involved over many years. That said, @Lowengrin's DCG was always at the heart. wheelsup_cavu 1 Quote
wheelsup_cavu Posted May 2, 2023 Author Report Posted May 2, 2023 That was an interesting read @Klaiber. Considering how many links were in the article the fact that only two went to nowhere was actually quite a nice change of pace. Ghost Skies – 2010 to 2012 https://ghostskies.jg1.org/ (No internet archive saves available for this link.) The Arrival of Combined Arms – 2019-2020 https://www.simulatedcombatgroup.com/ (https://web.archive.org/web/20200126092639/https://www.simulatedcombatgroup.com/page/1160153) I liked the Simulated Combat Group image quite a bit. We saved it on the JG1 site, but eventually buried it. I'll have to fix that. 8 minutes ago, wheelsup_cavu said: https://www.simulatedcombatgroup.com/ SCG is still around, but they're working on a new website. I'll have to find out what the URL is. wheelsup_cavu 1 Quote
