Averbex Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 What is your Timezone? UK - GMT/BST Do you have a joystick or HOTAS? TM Ava / TM Warthog (Modded) / TM Rudder Pedals Do you have TeamSpeak and Discord installed, as well as a working microphone? Yes Do you have VR, TrackIR, or a FreeTrack system for view control? TrackIR What sims are you currently flying? DCS / IL2 (from time to time) How did you hear about JG1? ED Forum Is there anything else that you'd like us to know? Hi there my name is Averbex. (English/German) UK based / 48. I am looking for Squadron that I can call home and as such I have been busy have been browsing the different DCS forums, Discord groups etc Came across your post on the ED forums and read that the JG-1 "Fritz Schmenkel was / is looking for virtual pilots and it jumped out at me. So I thought I would post here to test the waters. Been lurking in the shadows and skies for a while and I am looking for somewhere to call home. Been zooming in the virtual skies since the early 90's in one shape or form but took a break due to real-life i.e. work (ex-Luftwaffe/ Oil Industry / Water Industry). At the present moment I am getting up to speed on the F4 as I have a soft spot for anything Cold War era as I am vintage 1976 and have my eye on the Mig 21 and the Mig 29 A when it's released. Have been zooming around in the FC Airframes i.e. Mig 29 / Su27 etc Will be looking to expand onto other Air frames over time but Rome was not built in a day So on that note time for coffee before I hop into the virtual skies. Happy Hunting and may the Sun always be at your six. Modules - F4 / Flamming Cliffs 2024 / Blackshark 2 & 3 / Terrain - Marianas / Nevada/ Persian Gulf / Syria / Tech Pack - Super Carrier. Quote
Klaiber Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 Hi @Averbex, Thank you so much for reaching out to us about JG1! We're definitely a Cold War squadron, so it sounds like we have a lot in common with your interests. A lot of us have been really enjoying the F-4. And of course, we're really looking forward to the full-click MiG-29A, which will come out in "two weeks... (tm)." Unfortunately, we’re not currently accepting official applications for membership. But we’d love for you to join us online when we fly DCS World! It’s a great way to get to know us and see if JG1 is a squadron you’d like to be involved with. Here is our Discord information: https://discord.gg/SM6Uk5XuJ2 And here’s a link to our calendar of scheduled practices and events: https://jg1.org/schmenkel/calendar/ The calendar gives a good idea of when we’re online, though our availability may shift from week to week. It would be great to have you join us online, and if you enjoy flying with us, we can always discuss adding you as a member down the road! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions—I’m always happy to help! -Klaiber Quote

I love the F-4E as well. We are doing a special event on March 15 where you can fly that F-4 and is open to everyone. Practice/testing/map familiarization will also be this Friday and Saturday. Well for the time being I will keep in touch and see what happens down the road. Klaiber 1 Quote
