We are so excited about the addition of a 1949 Gloster Meteor T.7 to the Planes of Fame flyable aircraft collection. This quick video shows the moment it arrived at Chino Airport and parked at the museum for the first time. Enjoy the sounds of this historic aircraft, only one of three airworthy examples in the world! Wheels Britchot, Firefly, Snaggle and 1 other 4 Quote
Firefly Posted August 28, 2020 Report Posted August 28, 2020 That's a seriously rare bird. Great to see a 1st gen jet being kept in airworthy condition. Quote
wheelsup_cavu Posted September 22, 2024 Author Report Posted September 22, 2024 To keep from creating multiple threads regarding Planes of Fame and their multiple locations, Chino California, Valle Arizona, & Santa Maria California, I changed the thread title from Planes of Fame in Chino to just Planes of Fame. Planes of Fame Chino, California location: 14998 Cal Aero Drive, Chino, CA 91710 Planes of Fame, Valle, Arizona location: 755 Mustang Way, Valle Arizona At this time the Valle location is closed to the public, possibly permanently? The Planes of Fame, Santa Maria, California location will be at the Santa Maria airport (KSMX). Santa Maria Future Expansion Due to ongoing problems with road construction at and around the Chino airport the annual Planes of Fame airshow is being held in Santa Maria again this year. Website: https://www.centralcoastairfest.com/ Facebook: Planes of Fame Air Museum | Chino CA Facebook Photos: Planes of Fame Air Museum | Chino CA If anyone is in the Santa Maria area the last I heard, earlier today, there were still tickets available for the airshow on Sunday. wheelsup_cavu Posted September 29, 2024 Author Report Posted September 29, 2024 On Saturday, October 5, 2024, Planes of Fame Air Museum presents another in our series of Hangar Talk events along with our monthly Flying Demo. The Museum will be featuring the North American B-25J Mitchell. Museum doors open at 9:00am on this day. Hangar Talk begins at 10:30am and lasts until 12:00pm. Hangar Talk features several brief and fascinating presentations focused on aviation history, key personalities from aviation’s past, and other engaging topics. We’ll announce the actual line-up for each event about 1-2 weeks preceding the event. At 12:15pm, we'll be hosting our "Flying Demo" featuring the "B-25J Mitchell." A brief outdoor presentation will be followed by engine start-up and taxi directly in front of the crowd. Q & A with the aircraft pilot will follow the flight. We will have food trucks on-site, our reenactors and Museum Guides, and fun stuff for our youngest visitors. Our Gift Shop is open and stocked with loads of aviation themed apparel, toys, logo keepsakes, books and many more items. The Museum is open until 4:00pm. Regular Admission is in effect (Members always admitted free). Our "Member's Only" raffle drawing will be held to win a flight in one of our aircraft. A great way to spend the day for the whole family at Planes of Fame Air Museum. Wheels Klaiber and Snaggle 2 Quote
