  1. S! Needed some space I guess after FiF, so been off to other adventures. One unplanned adventure was to the hospital with a small stroke. Got released Christmas day. Quite a present under the tree. lol I'm improving each day, but still a ways off from flight able. Will try to be around the forums more though. Sorry you haven't had the crazy squirrel making your life "interesting", but we all have to make sacrifices. lol Salute! for now from all 21 personalities.
  2. Oh I did pay attention. The word "Maybe" is used in the list for one plane. Thus one plane is Tentatively included in the list. This list wasn't put up for discussion, but to inform so people could take advantage of the sale. The entire tone of the original post is informative. Well I do know of a meeting you missed recently, but I don't see how your attendance at a meeting bears any relationship to this thread. When somebody spends a lot of time and thought developing something, and then presents it, and people thoughtlessly jump all over it, and get carried away with making changes, that is going to frustrate the developer. So while it was not intentional, there actually was, as you put it, a dissing of Butzzell and Stubby. I'm guessing they just shrug it off, but it really doesn't need to be happening. I've been around Butzzell enough to know that when he is seeking opinions he asks for them. Plus this forum would never be the place to make decisions like that. It's way too big of a committee to get anything done. One thing that fails to register in my mind, is the wisdom of announcing certain planes so people can take advantage of a sale, and be prepared for an event, when there is a lack of certainty about using them. Would that not precipitate an undesirable reaction? Rather, wisdom would seem to dictate that any uncertainties be put forward as such. Give some thought to the possibility that perhaps the offense was oversensitiveness to what was simply an attempt to corral a discussion that was pointlessly running away. And while corralling the errant discussion, point it in a direction of thought more beneficial.
  3. Pay attention to what is said. Plane sets are not chosen on a whim. A lot of discussion goes into picking them. The plane set is not up for debate and if not for the sale you would not be told this for awhile yet. Butzzell said the DVII was a maybe. That means that one plane is the only one about which an absolute firm decision has not been made. This last FiF is proof enough that the designers of FiF try to work with as many planes and locations as they can. So sooner or later your pet plane will likely be represented. It's not nice to those who work so hard to bring us this event to start arguing over what we think aught to be, when they release details of what is to come. The planes and location have been determined. It's up to us to determine how were going to use what we've been given. That is part of the fun of FiF especially now that we fly both sides. It's a shame some people still look at an FiF setup and determine they will not take part in certain elements. You don't really know what you can do with what is unfamiliar and seeming inferior until you have set your mind and made an effort to overcome obstacles instead of use them as an excuse. (And right now I'm going to forget I'm better at applying these principals to a game than I am in real life.) So deep six the aircraft debate and move forward on preparing to fly them. As to the location, we've used it before. It was great! Just a little bit different plane list this time. For those like me that have trouble with the map on the public servers, you should know that Butzzell does a good job of making it run smoothly. He uses a good set of tweaks that work well. And for those concerned about the Germans having a place to land, don't be. England was happy to loan the use of some of it's land to Germany for this campaign in exchange for Germany promising to lose two World Wars. Actually there were some other considerations acquiesced to by both sides but that's all hush hush and not to be discussed by the lower classes that will actually be doing the fighting.
  4. Ask Cuban where I was. Oh and you might want to ask him about Roland S.N.1083 which he signed out for on Wednesday, and how I ended up with the data plate and a copy of his requisition order.
  5. well.... to be honest..... I was soldering. I was soldering on an AI that would hopefully be capable of firing the Fees front gun. Of course fitting 2700 vacuum tubes in the front seat is a work in progress...
  6. Dadgum spell check! Taking advantage of my lack of sleep.
  7. It was a good day to start our offensive. After checking with my meteorological staff I was satisfied that conditions were right for operations. My flight command staff reported a suitable number of aircraft and pilots were standing by ready to go. I would have preferred more, but it would have to do. Now was the time. I gave the orders to execute the mission. As I strolled out to my ship, breathing in the cool morning air, anticipating the coming action, I was accosted by 70% of my pilots wanting instructions. They had not bothered to attend the briefing. So without the aid of those expensive maps and detailed descriptions I did my best to explain what was going on. And then a few of them, bless their hearts, needed some tips on flying their airplanes. Like which direction to face when you get in, how to start it, how to tell the difference between a plane with a single seat and one with two. Well, with that confidence enhancement, I set my jaw and soldered on. We were going to do this. We were going to succeed. Now was the time. We must go! I took off leading a flight 6 strong. Two crashed on takeoff. My force was now down one third in strength, but still we soldered on. Then out of nowhere two more of my flight get zapped into nothingness. My once mighty aerial armada was now down to one third it's strength not even having seen the enemy. Still, we soldered on. Then, breaking through on my radio channel, I get the enemy commander! What the... where did he... how did he? In great sobs I get this tearful story about how all his planes were stolen, and now he's begging for a truce along the eastern front. And now my flight commanders were on the channel. Swelling full of tears they informed me of a similar decimation of our forces. Begging me to agree to a truce so we could recover from this debacle. My flight, despite drastic losses, was now the ultimate force on the front. By golly, we would solder on! It was then, that I heard from my meteorologist. He was in panic. All those rivers along the front had just crested two feet due to all the crying pilots. Both sides were in danger of all their ground assets being washed away. The heavy increase in humidity was threatening the world wide climate. The mass of all that water was pulling in mighty asteroids. The sun was threatening a supernova. This had to be stopped! I put my head down. I sagged my shoulders. I let out a great sigh. Then, finally, with great reluctance, I uttered the highly desired agreement. It was over. I turned my plane for home. Nothing to do now but finish my taxes. Tomorrow was the 15th of October. The extension was over. It was cloudy and dark. The remaining planes were safely tucked away in their hangars. And I sat hunched over a desk in the light of a lamp, brooding over forms and figures, sipping coffee, and reconciling myself to the long night.
  8. Never mind, it was my old computer needing a reboot.
  9. Experiencing this on the JG1 TS too right now.
  10. Thanks Chunko! I like the burning glue.
  11. Shnoze marches up to V-man and stabs the medal on him. And while V-man is too busy reacting in pain Shnoze licks his lips and plants a big slobbery kiss on each cheek of his face. Then he grabs V-man in a headlock and gives him a noogie finishing off with a slap on the back and then Shnoze proudly marches away proclaiming. "One of the perks of being in command is handing out awards!"
  12. So when we keep scoring 10s it'll be proof it's not the plane set, cuz after all we're flying the same planes... :D Hay Butzzell, wasn't there also something about more gun positions on the S-22 and reduced power on the Roland?
  13. Salute! Mueller Blue Team put up a valiant effort. Was a lot of fun. Hope everyone finds the second half to be great fun as well. Don't kiss your Rolands in front of the maintenance crew, that makes them very uncomfortable. Besides, I think some of my guys were kissing them and you might get something.
  14. Ah yes, well we have new fangled razor tech for cropping pictures.
  15. S! Hardy your a good pilot and a good writer. You shot down one of my pilots (well 2 it turns out) so I needed to protect my flight from you. Once I felt I had you firmly away from the bomber I told everyone else to focus on the bomber for that purpose as well as just getting the bomber. You know it's so hard to tell when those S-16s are damaged. Without the server confirming your engine was dead I thought you might be making a ruse to escape, So I added insurance to your staying on the ground. Then I circled expecting you to despawn, but you didn't. Noting your proximity to my base and that you were in "capture territory", I thought you might decide to sit there and provide intelligence on local movement. So I felt the need to remind you how warmly welcome you are in our territory. Thanks for the pictures. It helps when propagandizing the Frauleins.
  16. Please limit recordings. It's not just your computer that is effected. RoF recorders will drag down on the server, don't ask me why, our server gurus can confirm this. We need to try to keep recordings at any one time to a low number. This isn't like recording in IL2. RoF screwed something up when they set it up, probably tied the recorder into the master server some way.
  17. Well, lol, that explaines some things. I lost my wing in that cloud btw. Almost turned to go home, but thought I was still threatened.
  18. Thanks Mueller! It was an exciting time. Just realized I misspelled your name. Sorry about that.
