Barton, my references to the Russian front have been anchored in the historical sense and not Il-2. I'm not certain but I believe Klaiber's have been, too.

That's exactly why I picked it XD I'm still trudging through http://www.histomil.com/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=3918 picking out good photos. I found a picture from Northern Africa where two ground crew members are eating lunch behind a #4. I made it my desktop. Later I was looking through a book I've had for ~25 years, "Bf-109 Aces of North Africa and the Mediterranean," and I found the same aircraft during pre-flight and just as they taxi out of the exact same line-up. It had to be from all the same camera.

This could be me!

Awesome, I had it up, too.

One of the instructors over at the school I attend posted this little tidbit for the speedbar on Il-2: 1946. It would be especially helpful with bombing solutions. I posted it here because I think it should be common knowledge.

I know some of you don't like the prank caller once you go over 3,000 meters and I stumbled upon this at the 242 Squadron Forums. Personally, I like it because it reminds me that I'm in control of a "living" pilot, not just me at the computer. http://www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3457

I found this over on the 242 Sqd site. http://www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3423&sid=eaffcabc5e76131884b3452ce5fa19a3 It doesn't give you differential braking, but you can use both toes to activate the brakes. This excerpt is from post #6. It's a good option for those who don't have programmable rudder pedals.

Did you see the ammo belts moving in the gunner positions? @8:20

That P-36 cockpit looks the knees! I've got a print of "The Hawk of Haleiwa" by Jack Fellows over my PC. The model we have now is so-so, that one looks sweet! Go Finland Did they put more bars in the P-38's cockpit??? I've got to admit, 1C upset me a couple of years ago but they've been doing a great job lately. A lot of people are complaining that we're flying a 12 year old flight simulator and want some new blood. With the failure of CloD I've got to admit, this is the best one, still. I look forward to flying Il-2 for years to come, especially with the guys at 1C and SAS keeping it fresh.

Ahh, upon further research it was the Planes of Fame's Fresca replica 190A, not the original. I thought that one was down here in CA. Time for a JG1 road trip!

I missed watching that A-5 fly the other weekend. My buddy and I flew down to San Diego for for lunch, leaving around 10am, and the Focke Wulf flew at Chino at 1130am. I even ran two instrument approaches into Chino on our way back but that was at 2pm. I need to gather up my daughter and friend and go walk around their museum soon! The only reason I knew when it flew was because I looked it up 4 days later...

My friend told me about this last night, I'm moderately excited. I need to get home and watch the video, the internet at work is intermittent at best right now. I'm also looking forward to the Su-27SM.

This makes Cliff of Dover look like the 12 year old game.

She called the water buffalo, water moccasins. She could have just rolled up the window...

Here's the one I was looking for in the first place. Quite well summarized: For those that like their news in gritty black and white newsreels and bad acting:

That was a good breakdown. I'm a fan of Jason, I hope this project works for him as we'll as for us

Haha, this resurgence of an old sub game is brought to you by the naming convention of the controlling shelter I'm testing out

My favorite part is that I can play it with one arm Whenever I'm alone with the kid, I'll be taking the helm, I think. I'm just starting to figure out the whole torpedo calculations. I'm not one to start easy and work up to difficult, I'm all in from the start. This guy's "Let's Play" series is instructive and very entertaining. I've learned quite a lot watching him in the late hours on the rocking chair.

Thanks guys! I picked up SH3 and the Grey Wolves Expansion. It's pretty much IL-2 with HSFX... It looks good enough for me to get into it.

Brit - this one is for you: "Drone Pilot Ejects From Office Chair"
Britchot replied to Klaiber's topic in Public Discussion
That is a good read, although I am a bit offended at the "Balding Eagle" operation name. That could be only because I'm bald... -
I'm curious to pick up one of the versions of Silent Hunter; which one is the best in your opinion? I've heard that there was some decline in quality but without any additional guidance, I'll probably just buy the latest one. Any suggestions/recommendations? Thanks.

www.histomil.com I've been going through the 200+ pages from the Bundesarchive photographs and I can't stress how amazing these photographs are to see on the internet. Here's a crew boresighting a Bf 109F It's a crew from II./JG54

I am unable to login to the site using the latest Google Chrome browser for iOS 6. I do not know if any previous versions worked as this is my first use of Chrome on my phone. The login screen comes up and I can enter data into the fields without an issue but the actual login button does nothing.

Recently I decided to Jailbreak my iPhone for future interaction with the iPad mini that I'm expecting to get for Xmas. I gotta tell you, I'm fascinated by the now opened possibilities of my iPhone. One of the neat items is the ability to skin the themes to something you want, here's my current home page, dedicated to II./JG1:
