Hard drive update

My SSD is a bit on the skinny side when it comes to storage capacity.  225GB isn't a whole lot in these days.  Any suggestions?  Is cloning a drive easy?

I've used Samsung's drive cloning software and it worked well at that time.

Might need to check things out afterwards in Windows drive management to see if you end up with unallocated space that needs to be appended to your new, bigger drive.

Back then, seems like I used some kind of USB to SATA adapter cable to make it easier.

I recommend getting another SSD and keeping the one you have now, loaded with the OS.

Yes, the cloning thing is most necessary when you you're moving from an old magnetic drive to an SSD.

You can just move everything except Windows to your new drive, then install all future programs on your new drive.

I found a couple 1TB SSDs on Amazon for about $110.  I will probably just buy that and port all my games and other software to that.  Thanks guys

Make sure you either have, or order, a SATA or (if your board and new drive support it) an NVMe cable. Most SSDs do not ship with them.

I think I have an extra sata cable.  I ended up just getting a 500 GB SSD.  Should be plenty and they were half the price.
