I was surprised that the wing has no fabric over the plywood skin at all and that the colors are wood stains with marine varnish final coats. The woodgrain shows through and that is modeled in the FC skins. Looks like they got it right (but maybe should actually be more glossy).

Good info on the lozenge fabric as well.

Really nice oxy/acetylene welds too (what I cut my welding teeth on).
