Flying Circus Vol 2 for Steam

I'm sure some already know this, but I just discovered. If you already have an account on the IL2 website, it should already be tied to your Steam account and you can purchase FC Vol2 and have access to the airplanes at least when flying through Steam. One way to check that they are tied together is to change your name/id on the website then open IL2 on Steam. If your new name/id appears in the game then they are linked. Another lesson: don't put JG1 in the squadron column, otherwise your name will appear double like mine was last night (JG1JG1_Flyboy) lol

It is the same account however  The way I recall it is, you have to own IL2 Stalingrad through Steam to fly through Steam. After that any of the following modules regardless of  where you bought it can be flown through Steam.  So for example I buy all the prepurchase modules through the IL2 website but fly them through Steam as they are released. If I waited for the module to be released on Steam I wouldn't be able to fly the planes until the module is fully released.

The rules could have changed since I last looked.

I initially bought a lot of content through Steam but set up an account on the website later. I was relieved that I could purchase Vol2 and now at least have the airplanes available on Steam.
