I am very excited by the results of tonight's testing. Thank you @Vonrd @Mouce and Moushake for helping out with this. I think it was a huge success and I let it keep running after you all left so I could check the mission end and it worked great (see my attached snapshot picture). I had it set for only the top three but I'm thinking of upping that to 5 with a script option to change the number if I want. I sent the dcs.log of the mission to ChatGPT and it found no errors and all scored correctly. Everything worked beautifully except I did discover the EWR script will not work if you use dynamic spawn to get in an airplane, which isn't a big deal because for events …

I came across this video recently about using AI to build scripts. I am not a programmer and know very little about scripting (just enough to use already made ones in my missions) so I was excited about the possibilities and started to dive right in by trying to create an ArtySpotter script that could be used by both red and blue teams in MP at the same time. Well, after two days of frustration I finally got it, though a much simpler version than I'd originally started out to do. Here is some of the lessons I learned: 1. Learn to ask the right questions! Keep it simple, direct but accurate. 2. Ask operational questions to see if the script will do what you think…

Added RSBN and PRMG special ground units and their respective symbology for facilitating these landing systems anywhere on the terrain. Here is the guide for setting them up: RSBN units guide (note: MiG-21bis from Magnitude3 is not compatible with this RSBN/PRMG system yet).

The REFORGER Kola map has TACAN's noted on the ATO. I asked Rohr if he could translate them to RSBN but he doesn't have a clue. @Klaiber and @Flyboy do you have any ideas if it's possible to translate TACAN to RSBN or if it's possible to have both at an airport?

As some of you know, I have recently been working with ChatGTP AI to help me build scripts for mission building. It has been very exciting and I’m already thinking of so many possibilities for future mission. So far the good news is that I seem to have a workable ArtySpotter script that works for both side (I limit it to only one player at a time for each side) and an EWR/GCI script that gives either on demand or automatic threat/friendly information base only on ground or AWACS radar. @Patriot and I tested both last night and they seem to be working well. So here’s the bad news. Due to DCS game mechanics and limitations, the JTAC and Tac Commander positions will see…

The arty spotting is working fine but the results were not very impressive. When I finally adjusted the fire to be on target (against a Tank group) I was only able to achieve one kill. I think the quantity of rounds in "fire for affect" is 20. According to Google AI, a D-20 152mm battery (which the Egyptians should have had at the time): A Russian D-20 artillery battery, comprising six guns, could potentially fire approximately 30-36 rounds per minute at its maximum rate of fire, with each gun firing 5-6 rounds per minute. Could you increase the quantity to 30 and maybe increase the splash circle? Maybe twice as large. What size gun is the artillery?

DCS added a nifty little feature, " Manual progressive mission". Very simplistic, but it looks promising as a campaign generator. Its taking mission real time data, and where you stop the mission just save the mission. It writes a new mission from that point. 1st test lost an aircraft, "spawn place locked" Works in multi player too. Mox https://forum.dcs.world/topic/370738-mission-state-save/

Here is the post I made about our ongoing EWR bugs: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/356198-ewr-bug/ I haven't had the chance to recheck things, based on the suggestion from Gierasimov, but I'm pretty sure it's still busted.

Even if you don't do any mission editing, I thought this could be a place to help with ideas. After my Yom Kippur mission I have a couple project ideas I welcome input: 1. WW2. I am thinking about how I can implement what I learned from doing Yom Kippur into a WW2 map. There are challenges because there is only limited ground attack you can do in the limited plane set, but I could do a strictly air war (with points for airplanes shot down) but that might be more of an "Air Quake" style. I also thought of being able to use the radio F10 menu to activate, say, a bomber squad to take off and rendezvous with you for an air raid/escort mission. The channel map i…

All, I am nearing completion of my Sinai Yom Kippur II PvP mission and thought I'd pass along my mission briefing so you can see it and start giving some input. It's almost ready for testing with the group (maybe in next week or two?). I am including here the general and the Red briefing along with a pic from the Red side at the beginning of the mission. Loadouts will be in general the R-60/R3R vs 9P/7E2. Su-25 and A-10A's along with other aircraft and helos are available. CTLD and CSAR are implemented and can be strategically implemented.

Hey all, I will be out of town for a few days but I've updated my Multi Training Cold War Caucasus mission to version 1.002 and it's running on my server if anyone wants to give it a try (password: flybynight). It now includes a bombing range practice area using a script that will tell you how far off you were from the target and what bearing (from true north). You can airstart or take off fresh from Kobuleti. I tried to include a general description of the bombs and/or rockets carried for the airstarts. I also included WW2 airplanes for bombing practice. There are 4 target zones the script will use in the target area and are designated by their circular shape. You have t…

So I'm finally trying to get more serious about learning triggers and am stuck for the moment with adding sounds for the messages to coalition. I looked online and watched one video so far which led me to download Audacity, but where is the best place to get some of the sound files that would be appropriate for DCS? Can I use text to speech computer voice? @Klaiber where did you come up with some of your sounds like "Engaging bandit?"
