. . . The Daily Telegraph October 5, 1916 Report from the Battle of the Somme: Aerial Feats of Daring and Destruction By our correspondent at the Front In the midst of the Great War's unrelenting fury, the skies above the Somme thundered not only with artillery but with the buzzing of aeroplanes. Overhead, the gallant aviators of the Red and Blue teams clashed in a series of daring flights, each side aiming to outmaneuver and outgun the other in a struggle for aerial supremacy. Reports from the field indicate that the Blue team, representing the forces of Germany, secured a modest but noteworthy advantage, having scored 8 points out of a …

Salute All, The Flanders In Flames 2021 Fall Campaign has come to an end. And with it, a great calendar year of campaigns, friendship, and fun. From Rise of Flight in January to IL-2 in the Spring to Flying Circus in the Autumn. A big congratulations to the Blue Team, who has decisively won the Fall offensive, taking victories in Phase A and Phase B. Let us not forget the dogged determination and tenacity of the Red Team, however, as they fought throughout the campaign (often heavily outnumbered) to make Phase B a pretty close match. Flanders In Flames will return after a brief break! In the meantime, Jasta 5 will be running the second part of the P…

The FIF 2021 "Winter Campaign" has officially come to an end! Congratulations to both the Blue Team and the Red Team on their outstanding performances! After 8-weeks of heavy fighting in the skies over Kolomyya, the Blue Team has emerged victorious, winning both Phase A and Phase B! This campaign was extremely exciting, with many great battles. The early warbirds definitely seemed to add to the challenge, and it was fantastic to see formations of Sikorsky S-22's creep across the front-lines like lumbering titans. Flanders In Flames will return after a very short break! Over the next few months, we will be time travelling about 30 years into the futur…

The FIF 2020 "Fall Campaign" has officially come to an end! …and with it Flanders In Flames 2020. Congratulations to both the Blue Team and the Red Team on their outstanding performance! This tournament wouldn't be able to function without the great pilots who take the time and effort to fly with us every Saturday. This year was unique, as we found ourselves beginning in Flying Circus and ending in Rise of Flight. Obviously, none of that was ideal. But, for both @Butzzell and I, it made the most sense for the event's stability. With the recent announcement of Flying Circus - Volume II, things are looking up for World War One simulations, and everyone involv…
