  1. We are solicting any Luftwaffe pilots to fill in our air combat side of this a bit, as many of SCG members will be in tanks.  This mission will tax our server I'm sure, so this is a test of sorts.  Luftwaffe starting mission will be escorting JU88's who are assigned a bombing mission on a rail depot.  Upon return to base, OKL will be assigned assisting panzers on the ground moving to objectives.  Battle of Moscow, late November 41.

JV44 will probably have a couple of members in this one as well.

    Thanks,

    Neun

  2. Counter Attack on Aachen, Nov 44, Limited Tiger tanks, with Panthers, and MkIV's should heavies get knocked out, against American Shermans, heavy AT/artillery and American Jabo and fighter aircraft (AI) in area.  Luftwaffe player slots available in addtion to German Panzer, and anyone that would like to saddle up in Sherman to add to the existing AI forces.  JV44 invited as well.

  3. Guys we switched it back to VVS AI for us.  You are still welcomed to join, just no pvp in the air.  If someone wants to augment the VVS air cover by flying VVS it will spice up the mission, but I've got a lot of ground flak fire and AI VVS fighters in the area, so it's not a big deal if we don't have pvp in the air.  Thanks

  4. Greetings JG1,

I am going to host a Sunday CA event for SCG and wanted to extend an invitation to JG1 to take on the VVS responsibilities of the mission.  This would be a PVP in the air, and tanks vs AI on the ground with a heavy concentration of AT, artillery and AI tanks to keep the panzers struggling.   I'm not sure what kind of sign up I'm going to get from SCG Air Wing, but would be happy with 6 to a max of 8 for air combat pilots for each side.  The panzers would be tasked with the offensive push on this one and need to advance up the roadway and take some fortified positions.

Just throwing this out there.  Please let me know if anyone from JG1 would be interested in this, so I can build out the mission accordingly.

  5. On April 26th in the late afternoon, Heavy Panzer Regiment GD, 9th Kompanie pushed the Soviets out of Bzhedukhovskaya and across the river.  With the fading light it was decided that they would rest and rearm before crossing the river the morning of the 27th.  Their Commander, Hpt. Peter Jager decided to split the Kompanie into two components and position near both bridge crossings in an effort to confuse the Soviets as to the exact objective.  In truth, the east side of the river wasn't totally cleared from the days fighting and there was no way to be certain the Soviets weren't watching his every move, especially since his lighting offensive that day had placed the Panzer Grenadiers some distance to the east and at least a days march from the action.  Heavy overcast skies prevented any effective air recon of the Soviet positions, but some intelligence had been gleaned from several sources indicating the 4th Guards Forward position.  In addition, previous recon had confirmed the location of two Supply Depots in the town of Assokolay, which needed to be captured and the booty converted to German use and distribution if at all possible.

The final objective of the day would be the town of Ponezhukay where the Kompanie would resupply, rearm and provide some much needed maintenance on the Tigers.  Some Russian deserters had indicated a fairly strong contigent of armor with a mixed complement of both T-34's and Shermans.   The Soviets had been using a tactic of towing pak AT behind their T-34s and releasing them at key locations of the battlefield, forming "Pak Fronts".  The quantity and concealment of these weapons had proved very effective and intelligence indicated that Soviet AT weapons were plentiful.   Indications were the bridge crossings would be guarded in the morning and most likely with some armor.  Weather conditions for the 27th would be continued overcast with low cloud ceiling protecting the ground units movements from enemy air attack, but it would also mean no recon opportunities as well.  The Soviets were positioned well and tomorrow wasn't going to be easy.  Still, the big Tigers were a feared weapon and if confronted would wreak havoc on anything in their path.

  6. This will be a tanks only mission PVP, Soviet T34-43/Shermans against Tiger tanks.  However, the Germans will be facing a lot of AI out in the field in addition to Soviet human players.  I am in hopes that this will offset the Tiger advantage to a large extent.  In addition, the terrain is such that it limits the Tigers big gun advantage with a lot of rectangular fields surrounded by strips of trees and brush.  This limits the range advantage and gives the Soviets an opportunity to sneak in closer.  Front lines will be the river, however some Soviets have been spotted on the east side.  Preliminary map is included...but I'm still crafting the mission....

This will be a tank only mission with rain and reduced visibility against Soviet AI ground forces.  Our Heavy Panzer Regiment forms up to break the extensive Soviet fortifications.  We will need at least 6 panzers for this one.....but better to have 10 or so.   This will have extensive artillery fire and forward observations features implemented.  I will be able to put more ground activity in this one as the air resources will not be needed.  So look for more vehicle activity, etc. If we have a large participation in this event, I will take 3 tankers and go Soviet to add a pvp mode to the mission.

Those SCG/JG1 members without TC are welcomed to jump in our tanks and drive, etc....

  8. Update on the mission.  SCG_Meka is gone on holiday and we have no participation numbers from the French Flyers.  It's looking like the VVS will be AI again, and we might limit our air attendance to JG1 and SCG only to keep from recreating that problem we had last mission with too many OKL and not enough opposition.  We'll see how it shapes up in the morning.

    Thanks

  9. Mission IV, continues as 19th Panzer pushes onward to relieve the embattled 1st Parachute Division holding on to the captured Kuniya Airbase. This airborne drop was vital to both advance our air contingent and capture a vital rail hub for our push into Russia. Our OKL anticipates a fierce confrontation with the VVS who will throw everything they have into the breach to regain air supremacy in the region. The Russians are hell bent on destroying the 1st Parachute Division and retaking that airbase.  19th Panzer can expect heavy resistance to try and block our unit from reinforcing this unit.

We will split our ground forces into two Kampfgruppen, West and East and will rejoin after targeting enemy strongholds which are separated by several kilometers.  We will then rejoin and take the rail hub and secure the lines all the way to the embattled 1st Parachute Division at Kuniya.  After securing that location, we will attack and hold the town of Kuniya and repair, rearm and rest for the next days mission.

Our Luftwaffe has a plan of attack as well, but with listening enemy VVS forces out there, we will keep these under wraps for now.  The VVS will be out in force and our air components will be player vs player, so it should be a very interesting air battle.

Plenty of room for air and ground signups...SCG will be going "Dead is Dead" so this will be a very serious mission for our ground units.

Mission start time will be 2PM EST,  01/03/21.

    Thanks All
