  2. ....yeah....D.XII wings are criminally weak. Magics, I think it was, tried to calculate average amount of hits taken before an aircraft went down in FC and it was something like 8 hits for the D.XII...real shame, because otherwise it's a great little plane. Hopefully one that will benefit from a future DM revision...
  3. Gonna be cool to see D.XIIs in JG1 livery again. Just like the good old days...
  4. Sounds about right from what I've seen (The yanks have been testing it a fair amount across the lines ) - unfortunately, the DM for the D.XII is pretty laughable...wing-shedding is a pretty huge problem and it seems to be particularly prone to control surface jams / losses (although it might just be me imagining that)... I was really surprised by the dive characteristics tbh, especially seeing as the Pfalz seems to be referenced a lot as a good diver...it actually feels to me like they've gotten all the Central scouts' dive capabilities a bit mixed up! From what I've read at least, the D.XII dives like an Alb, the Alb dives like a D.VII and the D.VII dives like a D.XII! And yeah, very nasty spin on the D.XII, actually nastier than I remember from RoF... Again, I might just be imagining it but it seemed to me (alarmingly) that the full spin wouldn't recover until the prop stopped spinning...!
  5. Noticed it really doesn't like running alt throttle down low either...D.VII F seems to hold out for a bit but Pfalz will cook its engine pretty fast
  6. They're an interesting one....they all but invented hardcore punk....then totally abandoned it and turned to post-punk!
  7. For anybody that likes a bit of 80s music, I recently found an absolute gem of a Youtube channel that focuses on cataloguing recordings of the era that would otherwise be obscure and hard to find:
  8. I quite fancy it as well after flying it a little bit! She'll be an acquired taste though! A friendly word of advice regarding chasing SPADs...if their' roundels look like this: ...don't catch up
  9. Curious to hear you guys' thoughts on the Pfalz XII in FC...I remember it was popular with the JG1 boys in RoF!
  10. At the moment, I see wings falling off and control cables snapping On a bit of a hiatus from FC at the moment, including skin making, but hoping to finish this one up eventually...last time I worked on it the pattern was getting really hard to maintain towards the back of the right hand tail section (the bit left blank in the screenshots )
  11. Oh, a good few hours...! I haven't been keeping track It's definitely easier to go about it square-by-square though - you can focus down each square and get it looking reasonably proportionate to the overall pattern, whereas the first few attempts just refused to "wrap" correctly, and trying to fix any blemishes would offset everything else. Still some hiccups in the pattern here and there that are driving me mad, but I'm keen to just get the bulk of it done before worrying about that
  12. So here's a fun one....I decided to try my hand at something a little more 'Hunnish' and found possibly the most enraging skin to attempt in the history of FC..... The Albatros tail section (particularly the closer you get to the tail) is especially irritating to work with on the best of days, and diagonal lines tend to be a real headache....so this Bavarian pattern is turning out to be a real nightmare to try and apply. After starting over at least 7 or 8 times I finally decided that the only way to go about it would to be to individually place the blue squares (pretty laborious task!) Here's where I'm up to:
  13. FrankenSpads: One interesting little quirk that you see in Spad XIIIs is that, on occasion, aircraft will have their parts replaced from parts of other old or broken airframes. As different Spad manufacturers painted roundels and camouflage schemes differently, this can lead to some interesting quirks between aircraft...one good example is Lt. Wright of the 93rd's Kellner-built Spad, which ended up with mismatched lower roundels owing to one wing being replaced with a spare Bleriot wing!
  14. Just a quick update for those of you that might be on the 3rd P.G. forums - Pilots of other squadrons who have an account on our site have been updated to display their appropriate ranks and national wings as well as awards from J5 Flugpark's communal awards system. S!
  15. Great tune! Always a good night out when the Cult's in town
