Does this thing have a Daimler engine?

Check the Meier Motors link above. It has pictures of the engine on the second page showing a Mercedes Benz logo.

 

This is in spanish, it either has parts made in Spain or it was built in Spain.

The 109 is the coolest airplane ever! Love the sound of the engine!

With most people converting their Buchons into "Bf 109s", it makes me wonder how many preserved Buchons are left with their original Spanish Markings.

There definitely seem to be a few left with Spanish markings, which makes me happy.  The desire for German markings must be so strong, that I was worried that many would ignore the aircraft's Spanish origins in the effort to fill the "Bf 109" void.

If I had the money I would also convert a Buchon into a 109 but that would have to happen after buying the FW190 and BMW801 from the Laatzen museum and make them airworthy.
