Lee Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 The Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach as recently acquired and accurate Blériot XI replica, complete with wing warping. Here are a few iPhone photos. S! Quote
Britchot Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 that is awesome. I don't know if I would be honored or scared to fly an airplane like that! Quote
Klaiber Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 Lee, in the second shot, taken from the starboard side: Is that Bob Russell's Fw 190A-8? Looking at it in the background, I was struck by how bizarre the cowling looked. Almost like a La-5. And then I found this article, which said that "Russell fitted it with the four bladed propeller, hub, engine and modified cowling from a Tupolev TU-2 bomber." http://www.warbirdsnews.com/warbirds-news/yagen-acquires-fw-190.html If that is the "Russell" Focke-Wulf, are there any plans to return it to it's original specifications? Lee Posted August 7, 2015 Author Report Posted August 7, 2015 Klaiber, Yes. As far as I've heard the plan is to keep the Fw-190A as is. The link you posted also has a nice shot of our other Fw-190A "Blue 4" and our Dora replica. Quote
