Klaiber
Cool! I'll definitely buy this.
Britchot
I'll still be holding out until the whole DCS: 1944 is released. I love ED and what they do but I'm not ready to buy another duplicate key.
Erhardt
Just bought this - its a Fw and I just have to have it!
Britchot
Okay, for those that haven't been following the DCS: 1944 backers drama, here's a synopsis: Luthier (quit/fired) is gone and ED took over: http://forum.jg1.org/index.php?showtopic=2274 and http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125454 If you participated in the kickstarter for Luthier, your rewards were revamped by ED in what, to me, seems fair. The new "backer" rewards are as follows ( http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=126712 ): $1-19Bronze Backer credit in manualsP-51D or Fw 190 D-9 and print-ready PDF manual $20-$39Bronze Backer credit in manualsOne aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manualNormandy Map$40-$59Bronze Backer credit in manualsTwo aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manualsNormandy Map$60-$79Silver Backer credit in manualsThree aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manualsNormandy Map$80-$99Silver Backer credit in manualsFour aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manualsNormandy Map$100-$119Silver Backer credit in manualsFive aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manualsNormandy Map$120-$139Gold Backer credit in manualsAll aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manuals Normandy Map$140-$159Gold Backer credit in manualsAll aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manuals Normandy MapNormandy Map Alpha access$160-$179Gold Backer credit in manualsAll aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manuals Normandy MapNormandy Map Alpha accessCopy of any Eagle Dynamics developed DCS product$180-$199Platinum Backer credit in manualsAll aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manuals Normandy MapNormandy Map Alpha accessCopy of any Eagle Dynamics developed DCS productTFC Polo Shirt$200-$249Platinum Backer credit in manualsAll aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manuals Normandy MapNormandy Map Alpha accessCopy of any Eagle Dynamics developed DCS productTFC Polo ShirtTFC hat and calendar$250-$499Platinum Backer credit in manualsAll aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manuals Normandy MapNormandy Map Alpha accessCopy of any Eagle Dynamics developed DCS productTFC Polo ShirtTFC hat and calendarTwo keys for each aircraft$500-$999Diamond Backer credit in manualsAll aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manuals Normandy MapNormandy Map Alpha accessCopy of any Eagle Dynamics developed DCS productTFC Polo ShirtTFC hat and calendarTwo keys for each aircraftOne existing aircraft skin with your name below the canopy$1,000Diamond Backer credit in manualsAll aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manuals Normandy MapNormandy Map Alpha accessCopy of any Eagle Dynamics developed DCS productTFC Polo ShirtTFC hat and calendarTwo keys for each aircraftOne existing aircraft skin with your name below the canopyOne custom paint scheme for the aircraft of your choice$2,000Diamond Backer credit in manualsAll aircraft of choice, beta access, and print-ready PDF manuals Normandy MapNormandy Map Alpha accessCopy of any Eagle Dynamics developed DCS productTFC Polo ShirtTFC hat and calendarTwo keys for each aircraftOne existing aircraft skin with your name below the canopyOne custom paint scheme for the aircraft of your choiceYour face on the pilot model of your plane of choiceNote: Alpha access to aircraft is to be determined. For backers, you can go to https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/backer/ and select your appropriate reward(s). Save this link, there is nowhere you can link to it on DCS's main page. For me, I wound up with 2 aircraft and the Normandy map for $50, that's fair in my book. These planes cost something like $50 each and I get them for less than 1/2 (I don't know what the map will cost). With that, I'm the proud owner of the Dora and am awaiting the 109K-4's release date. I will buy the remainder, eventually. However, you won't find me in a Mustang (at least the armed version) until there is a sale. At least with the Dora I don't need to learn the various weapons systems and nuclear bomb delivery methods like the F-86F
Klaiber
I wasn't a backer of the Kickstarter campaign. But I did buy the Fw 190D-9. As an aside, I also bought the F-86F (and love it btw). Can't wait for the Bf 109K-4.
Pragr
I'm thinking of buying Dora but Sabre takes all my time at this moment. The fifty bugs option seems ok for me, but then I shall choose between the D-9 and K-4. Since the P-47 is "must have" for me. It's my personal love affair On the other hand I pay for BoS last year and more I read and fly the game the less enthusiastic I am about. So I became more suspicious about any kind of "starters". Britchot
The kickstarter options are no longer available, these were raised back when Luthier was still in charge. Now the only options to purchase are DCS releases.
Pragr
So I do not have the dilemma anymore Actually I'll wait with buying Dora, 'till there will be any meaningful online community and servers
Klaiber
The Dora is amazing btw.
Pragr
Great plane to fly. The only problem I have is taking off but I hope it'll be better. Compare to BoS's 190 the DCS version is totaly different plane and "feels" more like real aircraft.
Spies
I'm not getting any more DCS games until they release a new map. I'm bored of playing in this map.
