A pilot friend from work is wanting to put together a flight sim primarily for DCS and MSFS. He is looking at a rig from microcenter and asking for advice. He’s planning on using a Quest 3. While I know a little, I’m not an expert especially with AMD so asking what you guys think. I’m hoping to have him over in next couple days to try mine out.

He sent me the following pics of what he’s looking at.

I doubt that Microcenter would have other quality rudder pedals such as MFG Crosswinds but the Thrustmaster ones seems a bit steep. Also, there are now better HOTAS sets than the Warthog out there (but Tariffs 😬) although it's still a pretty good HOTAS. Seems like a good deal and he will have good tech support from Microcenter. I sure wish there was one in my neighborhood.

I have an AMD CPU Ryzen 5 and no issues so far. I couldn't make out the Power supply. Is it 850W? I would seriously consider upping that to 1000W and make sure it's, at the least, Gold certified. That 5080 is going to suck a lot of juice.

Virpil has been pummeling my inbox with ads for their sales. Certainly worth considering. I have been using their stuff for the non-F-16 sim now for years and have found it to be quite reliable and easy to use. (FWIW)
