The Military Aviation Museum is having it's annual Biplanes and Triplanes air show this weekend.  Thought you all might be interested in one of our Fokker D.VII replicas with its brand new Lozenge fabric.  This aircraft has a Hall-Scott engine, which is about as close the original BMW as we can get.

Was this replica always sporting a lozenge livery?

 

What did it look like before?

When we got her, she was all red.

 

I much prefer the new historical livery she's currently painted in now.

 

Has there been any thoughts regarding what unit markings to apply?  Or will she remain "factory fresh"?

I can't remember whether I've posted this before, but there's a Fokker D.VII still in its original livery (in fact it's the only one in the world that hasn't been restored at all) in a tiny museum in a small town in Quebec where my mother grew up:

Very cool! I wish we had something like this in CT. Our air museum is really good, but doesn't have any real WW1 aircraft (save for a DR.1 replica).
