  1. Do you still like the IPS monitor Luftritter. Thinking of upgrading my system also and upgrading to a 34" curve but as you all ready stated you can't get a TN in that size. Also does anyone have an argument for getting a 4K screen. My screen now is a 27" Benq TN 144HZ 1 MS response. 1080p I started thinking about my system and relized its 10 years old. Also I was zoomed in on an aircraft in BOS and started thinking if it would be easier to ID it if I had better resolution. I know that last sentence could open a can of worms.
  2. What is your Timezone? Central Do you have a joystick or HOTAS? Warthog Do you have TeamSpeak installed, as well as a working microphone? Yes Do you have TrackIR, or a FreeTrack system for view control? Track IR What sims are you currently flying? CLoD, ROF, BOx, DCS: Warthog, MIG15, F86, Mig21, 109K4, 190D9, P51D, Mirage 2000 and SA342M Gazelle. I have Star Citizen don't know if I'll play it. How did you hear about JG1? FIF Is there anything else that you'd like us to know? Not sure if I'm going to keep this callsign but for now lets get the ball rolling.
  3. There where a couple times watching your video where I was thinking you have more zoom then me. So maybe its my settings I have mess with a bit. Then again we did chase a Strutter oh I'm mean Roland so who knows.
  4. Who am I going to steal kills from if your not around for 2 weeks. I guess I will have to steal them from someone else. My personal account I would say we shared 2 kills and possibly 1 kill on my own. The one thing I'm curios about I could have sworn the last stream I could fast forward through. This one I couldn't. I was curios how close where we to colliding because I was trying not to collide with the D7 so I have no I idea where you where or how close we where. I only saw up to the bristol on the 2nd map. Which was 10 mins in on the 2nd map. Watching your video from your end, do you have a large monitor? I've been curios on how some guys can tell what the contact is before me. I have a 27 inch monitor.
  5. The Contortionist has a Perfect Circle feel to it.
  6. I was in kindergarten at best when the original line up of the Misfits where around. I didn't appreciate punk music until I was in High School. I was a freshman, into Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots etc. I sat next to this senior in Spanish class. He was a punk kid purple mohawk chain with pad lock etc. He didn't bash Nirvana but it was more of hey kid this is where it came from. He introduced me to punk music. Blag Flag, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols The Damned, The Misfits (my personal favorite).
  7. Funny you where listening to that because on the way to golf I picked up my friend and where jamming to this.
  8. Found these. There is a you tube channel called Postmodern Jukebox found it very amusing. Various covers of modern songs done to different eras styles. and this woman who has her own channel same concept.
  9. Some of those reminded me of my Kerbal space program bloopers.
  10. I even noticed the countries changed depending what time period you picked.
  11. Came up on mine also. I thought about posting but got distracted.
  12. There is a band that plays around here (Wisconsin) that reminds me of Gamblers Mark. It will take me a bit to remember who they are.
  13. Best of both worlds.
  14. Something new I found. They have a bunch of albums out all instrumental.
  15. Archer is great. Ran across this on my my ipod. The band is called Gomez. Don't recall when they came out early 2000. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYKnJ5VcCSk
  16. Thought of this later. "Fight the enemy where they are not" Sun Tzu. He wasn't on the map
  17. I remember the third video. We pushed the Breguet off the map towards the East knowing he had to turn west eventually.
  18. I'm one of those lurking in the shadows.
  19. This is a classic scissors set up. I find when I find 2 people in a scissors. Fly straight through it don't follow. Timed right you should catch up in no time. Picture a dollar sign. You are the vertical line. $
  20. The XO I'm refering to hated to get shot down. He never saw the point of diving into a furball in the hopes of getting a kill at the risk of getting shot down. I would agree. So we chose to hunt at high altitudes it may not be as fun as getting into a furball but we got stuff done. I personally would rather fly at high altitude and not see something in 1 hour then get shot down 5 times furballing in that same hour. The oh well I got shot down doesn't work for this topics intent. Basically if you want to do this in Wargrounds you have to ask yourself how do you fly FIF. That will answer a lot of your questions.
  21. Also with my prior post when I said the second guy would wait to move after the first was 1000 Meters away. That will work in BoX not Rof. The closing speeds, the aircraft speeds, turn radius's are tighter here. The concept does translate. You just need to cut everything half maybe even 2/3. Also more often then not the first guy in is not the shooter. Usually the second guy. Or the second guy makes the bandit break harder with the first over the top in a yo-yo and then the fist guy is back in for the kill.
  22. With the post above you have to understand that in AH the sides where knights rooks and bishops. So it was never F4u1A VS zero's or KI-84's it could be any WW2 aircraft. So there where times it was the same aircraft fighting each other. That game had icons at 4000 Meters if I recall. FSO the scenarios where plane specific. It was 700M icons with plane type at 200M So you would know its a 109 but at 200 you would know it was the 109G6 I think our soft deck was 10,000 FT. Hard maybe 8,000.
  23. When I flew with VMF222 in AH, I flew wingman with the XO a lot in the main arena. He wouldn't fly FSO (FIF Style) So in FSO I ended up an element leader a lot of times. This XO and I Would follow a lot of these things. We mainly flew F4U-1A we got to the point where we didn't say much during an engagement unless it turned to 2 v 2. Will keep up tactical Elemental maneuvering Usually loose duece Will work single bandits over using the Engaged / Free doctrines. The first will drop the second waits till the first is 1000M then drops anticipate the break and be there if not break off if no shot. Rinse repeat. Will value each other more than we value the kill My K/D with him was great if its to hairy or no advantage leave Will set a soft deck and try not to go below it Had one Will set a hard deck and not go below it Also had it Will escort each other back to base when damaged Did that also Will fly our aircraft to their strengths Had to. F4u1A was a not good in a turn fight. But it was great in the dive and had speed. so you had to think vertically Will tell each other when we're not flying our aircraft to their strengths Will keep up "Triple C" Communications at all times - clear, concise, correct. Both offensive and defensive. Bandit high 6 lets reverse. Reverse how do you turn into or away from each other for a 180 heading. This is why I keep flying. Just debating doctrine or trying new ones is always fun.
