  1. A little disappointed that we're not going to get much more in the way of engine management and clickable cockpits, but I'll give that up to have a playable game at release...
  2. I've still got this game installed, but I haven't played it in a WHILE. All this talk makes me remember midnight port raids and evading destroyer escorts. The utter terror resting on the sea floor trying to blend in with the clutter while patrol ships circle like vultures, the ominous screech of the sonar ping that might betray your position. It's becoming harder NOT to play...
  3. I have both SH3 and SH5. SH5 is beutiful, but broken. From what I've heard the mods only create more problems than they solve, so I havn't messed around with modding it. SH3 is obviously a little less graphically pleasing but the stock game works better. If I were to recommend one I'd have to go with SH3. Although, you will need to invest a bit of time hunting down and installing mods to make the game playable in the long-term. There is a Wolf-Pack mod I found a long time ago but I never got it to work (pretty much gave up on the game).
  4. Nice!
  5. Wow. I'm very glad you shared this.
  6. I'm trying to paint a G-4 (had to use the void.bmp from the G-2) but the lines and rivets are WAY too visible. I have no idea how to "Fade" them so they're, at least, less visible. I'm using GIMP 2 for my image editing software. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
  7. The ATAC hangar is located next to mine (actually within our complex between our hanagar and the "Line Shack"). They operate 2 of these F-21s on a regular basis and are both usually parked on our line next to our F-18s. They're really cool planes to see. One of my friends and co-workers had talked to this pilot on many occasions. Every time he would ask how Mr. Lefon how he was doing he'd reply, "Oh, you know, just livin the dream!" His loss was a shock to all of us. The day of the incident, the weather was good but it was easy to tell that it wasn't going to be for long. We launched between 4 and 6 F/A-18s and ATAC sent up Capt. Lefon in one of their F-21s (the other was undergoing and engine swap). Shortly after take off weather deteriorated rapidly at the airbase and by the time our F-18s returned we could hardly see them taxiing down the runway merely a couple hundred yards away. It was shortly after we had all of our jets parked and shut down that we heard of what happened to Capt. Lefon. Carroll Lefon will surely be missed by all who had the privilage to have known him. My sympathies go out to the family he has left behind. This incident also happened merely a week after we lost an F/A-18F during our 1 vs 1 dogfight day. These pilots ejected after the F-16 "Viper" they were up against told them their port side was ablaze. The aircraft was a total loss but the aircrew survived.
