I don't understand why they were going to do it as a stand alone in the first place. Same game engine, same war, many of the same planes. I hope whoever came up with that idea was thrown out of a window.

It has to be a Mosquito. Its the only aircraft that completely matches that profile including the engines, tail, cockpit, and where the wings attach to the fuselage. The aircraft at 1:59 I would most definitely identify as a Fw-190 from the still provided by Klaiber. I've read many accounts of friendly fire encountered by Tempests from American pilots when the Tempest was first being rolled out. And its not surprising that rookie real life fighter pilots in a real war would overlook war markings in the heat of a perceived life or death fight when so many experienced computer fighter jocks, including myself, have failed in this regard. I just hope the fool didn't kill anybody on that plane. On a side note, jeezus they get in close as hell to those flying boats!

Wait, so 777 is trying to build and sell a completely "new" game around 1 new plane and a map? What they need to do is add 6 or 7 new planes and 2 new maps and sell it as a mod-pack, not...this dumbf***ery. I used to wish we had a new sim to replace IL-2 1946 and re-unite the WW2 simmer community. Now there's no shortage of WW2 sims, especially the arcadie shit, but no one is sticking with their product. The great thing about IL-2 is that it was all-encompassing, but it didn't happen overnight. If I have to buy 4 or 5 games for $60 a pop to get a game like 1946 with CLoD level detail I'll effing do it as long as they're compatible. Until 1C-777 pulls their heads out of where the sun don't shine I like and trust them about as much as I do Congress... This is seriously depressing. The sim community just wants a good product and we're willing to support whoever will do that, but we also see when we're being used or played. And this is a small community to mess with. That being said, I'm putting my eggs into the DCS basket and always with the modders in CLoD, considering 1946 was good but the modders made it GREAT!

Some of the videos I've watched look promising. But then again there is a difference between a dev test on a likely top end machine and running something like Ghost Skies with 100 moving columns on mostly average PCs.

I wonder if it will effect your vulnerability to enemy fire. Like, say, ducking down behind your armor plate while being shot at. Wonder if the pilot's hit boxes move.

The AI is unbelievably improved. I can THINK about an offline campaign again! The Fw-190 still sticks speed on final like a mofo but it's not quite as bad.

Looks pretty good, indeed. I am interested to see how the clouds work and how detailed the DMs are. Those are the most important to me.
