  1. I’d be very interested in seeing that thread! I have a 1080 Ti, so I should be more than fine there. But I don’t have much experience with the nVidia control panel settings.
  2. Nice video! Subscribed. May I ask how you got such pristine footage from the Il-2 engine? The last video I did about Flying Circus, all my external shots had pretty awful anti aliasing. Also, whenever I was recording from a flight track, if I kept the shot going too long, playback would suddenly glitch out for one second before resuming. Very annoying! My raw recordings are in MP4 format and are look fine themselves, but whenever I import them into my video editor (Hitfilm 3 Pro), they export as really, really awfully anti aliased. :/ How do you capture footage? Whatever you're doing looks great!
  3. Thanks Klai! Don’t worry; the way it went I think there will be many more opportunities in that same vein.
  4. A few Sundays ago, on Dec 23, JG1 had the distinction of hosting one of the first ever organized events in 1C/777's new WW1 flight simulator "Flying Circus". We managed to keep 25 pilots online for the majority of the event, with peaks above even that. For an early-access title with only 4 planes, this is really big news! Here's my impressions of the event and my thoughts on the future of this upcoming title:
  5. I've been listening to Switchfoot lately. Take this one: simple little melody + a catchy bass line = I can't get it out of my head now lol! Or take this one; less odd and more conventional alt rock: Listening to both multiple times over at work, haha.
  6. We spent a lot of time up high last mission. We were able to get our Pfalzes up to about 6k...but this did not satisfy JG1_Vikner, however. He proceeded to shoot for the moon...and clawed his way all the way up to a historic 8 kilometers high. O_o Not a whole lot of engagements that night, but good teamwork and excellent formation flying to all involved! After this, a few of us decamped to Flying Circus where I ended my evening with a twisting, turning dogfight in my SPAD against a gallant Pfalz D.IIIa. I haven't had that much fun in a SPAD in a long time! I'll see you all on Wargrounds next Thursday! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/358523213 (Also, here is the view from the Allied perspective, courtesy of US103_Baer):
  7. Happy New Year gentlemen! We'll be back in action this Thursday at 8pm Central US time on Cuban's server! Let's start the new year off with a bang, shall we?
  8. Sweet ride! That cowl art looks menacing, like it wants to eat a Camel for breakfast! I got my first personal skins in ROF (courtesy of Butzzell - thanks man!) and it’s a great feeling to strap yourself into your plane and think “this one’s mine.†I love how our squad works together to support each other like this! We truly are better together.
  9. Happy new year my friends!
  10. I won’t be able to make it this time. Also, Cuban + other Vintage Mission regulars expressed a desire that we not overlap the Vintage Missions as much. If we do a fly in today, perhaps bumping it to an hour later might be a good compromise?
  11. Reached 100 subs on YouTube recently! Hopefully this is just the start; 2019 is gonna be fun!
  12. That is wonderful! You're right to display those proudly!
  13. Merry Christmas to you too mate! When were you with JG1? I joined in 2015.
  14. Yeah it was abrupt lol! I guess it’s more realistic...only takes one bullet to the head I guess. Makes me wonder, are 1 shot head shots modeled in the game?
  15. Nice to see you here mate! We’re glad to have you!
  16. It was an absolute blast! :D Thanks to Butzzell and Snaggle for the server and stats work; also thanks to everyone I had the pleasure of flying with and against! I think I'm officially hooked on Flying Circus. Here's my livestream of the event: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/353366517
  17. What: Fun dogfight event Where: Flying Circus; JG1 server When: 2pm Central US time; Sunday, Dec 23 Who is invited: Everyone! If you own Flying Circus, you're welcome to come! We're trying to get the most people online on a Flying Circus server to date. Let's fill it up! (Screenshot credit: BP_Lizard on the Il-2 forums.)
  18. That was largely entertaining to read! Keep em coming! - die Wespe
  19. Well, it was an awesome night, with the server very much alive indeed! After some delightful massed formation engagements, I went on to Flying Circus 1 for my first time. I have to say that I am impressed, even though it is still very much a work in progress. Expect to see me there more often after Thursday nights! Here is last night's livestream on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/352006304 I won't be able to make next Thursday due to having family over for Christmas, but the event will still be open for anyone who wants to join on Wargrounds!
  20. Salute gents! Just a reminder that this Thursday we will be flying on Cuban's server. See you in the skies!
  21. My brother Shaw and I saw it this evening. Quite possibly one of the best films I have ever seen in my life. We both were totally impressed by the colorization and by how authentic it actually looked. This is not your usual "colorized for TV" junk. Each frame was painstakingly colored based on the actual location and surviving uniforms and the result is something akin to time-travel. Choosing to have the film's narration provided solely by the soldiers themselves was a brilliant move. Oftentimes with war movies you are left wondering what sort of a spin the director put on it and whether things were actually like that. Not so with this one! Here we hear the stories right from the men who lived them. It's eye-opening, sometimes hilarious, and oftentimes chilling. Make sure you stay until after the credits. After the credits, there was about an extra hour of bonus features where Peter Jackson breaks down the process of how he went about creating this film. It was absolutely brilliant! We were taking notes, I can tell you for sure! Over all, I can't recommend this film enough. If you missed it today, there's still a chance to see it on the 27th. By all means, go for it!
  22. I’m going to try to see it too! Pumped!
