  1. Merry Christmas/happy Hannukah/joyful Festivus to all! Ferd
  2. Hey Barton. Congrats on the new pilot! Ferd
  3. Nope definitely is supported. Eye tracking is not. The Pimax version caused major stutter but the mbucchia version works very well for me. Increased frame rates a bit and most importantly just eliminated stutters at higher resolutions noted above. Give it a try, it's easy to uninstall if you don't like it.
  4. See here: https://github.com/mbucchia/Quad-Views-Foveated/wiki/DCS-World Download and install Mbucchia Quadviews: https://github.com/mbucchia/Quad-Views-Foveated/wiki/#download--installation Download and install Quadviews Companion: https://github.com/TallyMouse/QuadViewsCompanion/releases Set Quadviews Companion: Pimax settings for DCS: (this is for the Crystal Light, not sure how this would work with Crystal with eye tracking) Be sure to turn Quadviews on in VR tab of DCS. I also run Pimax at 120hz and set DCS frame rate limit at 120hz. I was using Pimax's quadviews but got terrible stuttering. MBucchia's seems to work very well and almost completely eliminated stuttering even when the frames drop into the 50s and 60s downs low over big cities. You can always lower the Pimax resolution down from 1.03 and lower the foveated resolution down in Quadviews Companion from +225% to get better framerates.
  5. Looks fun Von. Did you hang ten?
  6. I center in the Pimax software before every DCS session after starting Necksafer and that usually fixes this problem for me. You can do that either with a controller or if you have controllerless mode enabled in Pimax Play, by holding down the up volume button on the headset and then centering when the menu comes up.
  7. They have an english cockpit as well. Helpful
  8. I can run IL2 at 1.03 resolution in PimaxPlay and it pretty much always sits at 60 FPS (I have it capped to 60 fps in pimax play and Openxr tools). I use 4x FSAA in-game and I see very little shimmer. It actually looks awesome, quite a bit better than the G2 and with slightly larger FOV.
  9. Leave OpenXR Tools for WMR, you can use that for Il2. You will also need opencomposite so that you don't have to use SteamVR for Il2. You can ditch the rest.

  11. Hey Leep!!
  12. That's super cool.
  13. I use the same Pimax Play settings in IL2 as with DCS. in-game MSAA antialiasing is a massive performance hit, so I use FXAA X4 which is actually very good with Pimax' high res. You can use Open Composite to switch from SteamVR to PimaxVR and use OpenXR Tools in IL2 as well to adjust colors, etc.
  14. I wouldn't call it a "hack", it is simply replacing the third party DLL file (nvngx_dlss.dll) in the DCS game directory with the most current version. If you are currently using DLSS you should at least try the updated version of the DLL. Even if you don't change the DLSS preset from the default ("c"), it is still better image quality than the outdated version of the DLL that DCS is using and virtually eliminates ghosting. You can always change it back by doing a DCS quick repair or saving the old DLL.
  15. Snag, this video is a pretty good starting place: PimaxVR over Steam for sure. I've had good success setting the Pimax Play refresh rate to 120hz but then in the Pimax Play Games tab restricting the frames to 1/2 framerate. That give you 60hz in game which is plenty and seems to cut down on the stutter a lot. If you were using OpenXr tools, you can't use that now since it's already incorporated into Pimax Play. Also, definitely enable quadview, good framerate boost. I use the quality setting. The Pimax centering and eye tracking in-game is not for the Crystal Lite so leave those off. Note you have to set the quadview tickbox to on in-game in the VR settings tab. I leave Pimax Play rendering quality at 1.0 and in-game rendering to 1.0 but depending on your settings in game you can try and bump these up or down a little to get the framerates and quality you like. I like using DLSS and DLAA in game, helps with framerates a lot. But, you need to get the new DLSS 4 runtime and set the preset setting to "F", "J" or "K" depending on your preference, especially if you have an Nvidia 400 series card or above. Otherwise DLSS and DLAA are too blurry and there is ghosting. "J" and "K" have a performance hit, so I use "F". Search for "DLSS 4" in the DCS forum and it will tell you how to do this. It's not too complicated. Next time we're on we can walk through settings.
  16. No apologies necessary. Slime has the ability to seep into the smallest of crevices.
  17. Well, if I ever considered using TEMU, sure not going to do it now.
  18. Came across this site, lots of cool sounds here: https://www.avosound.com/en-us/sound-effects/search/aircraft/airplane-world-war-2/ I especially like B-17 interior startup one
  19. Well, PiMax support couldn't figure it out but I think I got it fixed. I had noticed from the Main.log that the error relates to this command in C:\Program Files\Pimax\PimaxClient\pimaxui\resources\regedit\vbs\reglist.wsf: <script language="VBScript" src="util.vbs" /> I researched a little and saw that MS deprecated VBScript as of October 2023. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/windows-itpro-blog/vbscript-deprecation-timelines-and-next-steps/4148301 So, since this this was a fresh install of windows v. 24H2, the VBScript feature now appears to be completely optional and must be specifically added with this procedure: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/install-or-uninstall-vbscript-feature-in-windows-11.13095/#One VBScript will eventually be completely phased out of windows, and probably everyone's headset will stop working until Pimax fixes it. Now I just have to get it all set up. I'll try and be on tonight.
  20. Nah, positioning doesn't help. Also tried all my USB 3.0 ports, makes no difference. Can't click the reset headset option, none of the options on that page work at all, I think because it doesn't detect any device connected. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I press the small forward button near the light, it is supposed to turn it on, right? The manuals don't say anything about these buttons but from reading on the forums seems like the short forward button is power and the rear longer button is volume up/down
  21. Didn't work with the sensor. No error code, I think because Pimax play doesn't detect any device attached at all.
  22. Well I got my Crystal on Friday. Was away this weekend so didn't get to try it until yesterday. Followed all the install/setup instructions on the Pimax site, Pimax play immediately updated the firmware. But, it isn't recognized by the computer. Red light on the headset stays red even after pushing the headset power button, and Pimax Play isn't detecting anything connected. All my usb ports are working fine but it just doesn't show any devices. However, the Pimax Audio device and the Pimax camera sensor loaded and show up on device manager, so the computer is detecting something. Tried changing to different USB ports and tried the 2nd DP port on the graphics card. Uninstalled and reloaded Pimax Play and the drivers, nothing. It's plugged into the wall socket correctly but I can't tell if its adequately powering the headset. The headset has power from somewhere so I think its working but could be just the USB supplying enough to turn on the red light. All the cables seem tight. I tried everything I could find on the Pi,ax site and Web to fix, but no go. I put in a ticket but any thoughts would be appreciated, .... 'cause this sucks. Ferd-
  23. And... Happy Birthday !
  24. Hope that old guy strapped to your belly didn't interfere with the jump. Absolutely awesome Von! Ferd -
  25. I ordered the head strap. I'm going to see if I can use it with my headphones first, if not I will order the upgraded speakers. I don't wear glasses so I'm hoping the stock faceplate will work.
